Scholarship Information - Each year Holy Cross Episcopal Church awards a scholarship to a deserving youth in memory of the young people of our church who have been lost to an untimely death. This is the twelfth year the scholarship is available. It is available to deserving teenagers who attend Holy Cross, as well as those who reside in the region that Holy Cross serves. The 2009 scholarship will provide full tuition for one week at the Bishop Clagget Center, a $500 U.S. Savings Bond or $250 in cash. The awards will be based on merit and community service activities of a deserving teenager. Applications are due by May 15 with awards to be made by June 15. Applications must be returned to Holy Cross Episcopal Church or can be mailed to Mary Raab at 3033 Rocks Road Jarrettsville, MD 21084. Each year Holy Cross Episcopal and Highland Presbyterian Churches award a scholarship in the amount of $2000. It is available to graduating high school seniors or previous graduates who attend either Holy Cross or Highland. Preference will be given to communicant members of Holy Cross or Highland. Applicants must also demonstrate a financial need. Preferred areas of study include, but are not limited to, careers in the military, environmental protection, nursing, public health, ministry, agriculture, music, teaching and vocational interests. Last year’s scholarship went to a member of Highland, so Holy Cross will have preference this year. Applications are due by May 15 with awards to be made by June 15.
