Recommended Reading

First, let me say that I highly recomend any Pagan/Wiccan/Non-Pagan alike to purchase a Witch's or Magickal Almanac, such as the one available from The Witches' Almanac, LTD. They are comparatively inexpensive, and are full of a great deal of useful information on the cycles of the moon, eclipses and other such whatnot, and mythology as well.

Cunningham, Scott
1997 Earth Power: Techniques of Natural Magic
St. Paul, Minnesota: Llewellyn Publications. 1997:
              153 pages.

a very good book on the various types of natural magick, starting with the basics and ranging though the 4 tangible elements all the way throught weather, candle and knot magick.

note: any of Scott Cunningham's books are incredible... as yet, this, however, is the only one I personally own, which is why it's the only one on this page.

Cunningham, Scott
1996 The Truth About Witchcraft Today. St. Paul,
              Minnesota, Llewellyn Publications. 185pgs.

Dolfyn
1989 Crystal Wisdom: Spiritual Properties of Crystals
and Gemstones Oakland, CA: Earthspirit, Inc. 1989,
              173 pages.

a very good, but rather basic book on the uses and properties of crystals.

Hollander, P. Scott
1995 Tarot for Beginners. St. Paul, Minnesota:
              Llewellyn Publications. 359 pgs.

Perschel, Lisa
1995 A Practical Guide to the Runes:Their Uses
in Divination and Magick. St. Paul, Minnesota:
              Llewellyn Publications. 171 pgs.

Ravenwolf, Silver
1997 "Religion vs. Science" in To Ride a Silver
Broomstick: New Generation Witchcraft. St. Paul,
              Minnesota: Llewellyn Publications. 300 pages.

This is an absolutely incredible book for the beginner, and especially for the solitary practicioner. She is an incredible, and highly regarded author.

note: see above comment on Scott Cunningham's works; same applies here.>
