05.09.16:: I'm still alive. Somehow, so is this.

12.03.12:: It may be a cliché, but it really is true: Life goes by so, so fast.

I started this angelfire site during the summer of 2001. I was 15, going on 16. I crashed head-first into everything I could programming-wise, as well as taking apart every single desktop I could get ahold of. I couldn't get enough. It amazes me the amount of zeal - the sheer single-mindedness I had - when it came to computers and programming.

I spent countless hours as a kid writing html, learning CSS, and general agonizing over the most trivial things on this site. Through the time making this (admittedly awful) site, I learned something else - I learned a bit about me, and the person I would become. It was through all this that I eventually wanted to do more, went to college, and got an engineering degree. Since then, I've been incredibly blessed; I've worked on things that 16 yr old me would never have believed while staring at screens of code night after night.

As cringe-worthy as many of these earlier posts are, and as terrible and "yuck" much of this page is in light of modern web design - I leave it all here. I never really kept journals, diaries, or anything of the sort growing up. All my life - all my history, has been digital. The banner at the top - the links on the side - the gaudy animated gifs - as strange as it sounds, they mean something to me after all these years. So, this site will stay (probably unread) until Angelfire finally goes quietly into the night.
I will never forget all the time I spent banging my head into the wall when something didn't work, uploading JPEGs over dialup, and learning to become disciplined enough to figure out your problems, and correct them (a skill that I am still working on to this day!)

Thank you, Angelfire. I don't know if I'd be who I am today without you.

01.16.06:: Unless you've been living in a large aluminum doughnut alongside the highway between Utah and Nevada, you may have noticed that many people are moving to profile sites (read: hookup sites) and away from the whole Angelfire/Geocities debacle. Well, I finally sold out (aahhh release the dormant skater angst, Drew) and hopped on the bandwagon:

--->Myspace<---
---->Facebook<----

12.20.05:: Well, I flushed the idea of drewparkinson.net. Why? Too lazy.
Stupid ADD..

10.19.05:: For all those who occasionally glance at this site, read on.
After nearly seven years here at www.angelfire.com/md/drewp, i'm finally moving on - Getting old, I guess. I have just registered the domain name www.drewparkinson.net, and in a few months that site will be up in running (hosted by the guys at logjamming.com).
This page has gone through some changes through the years. I have alot of memories of myself in the late 90's, hunched over my computer (and a lot of times, Josh's) picking through other people's code to learn HTML. Even though Angelfire's pretty much nerfed alot of its functionality for its freeloader customers, i'm gonna miss it. I guess you could say its analogous to tearing down the old tree house in your parents' yard, or kicking your sister's old grey cat into traffic, or other such "Wonder Years" moments.
Well I think this old bird has a few more posts in it, so check back in a month or so for updates on the new site.
Oh yeah, go to the HAUNTED HOUSE! Call Josh or Mansy for details. Or me. Or ASIAAA!

10.01.05:: Hey! Wanna get scared? Sure do! You're a smart one there, little Timmy. The Haunted Forest House on October 21st. See Mansy or Josh for details.

09.06.05:: This is becoming a tradition I believe, so here it is -> my classes this semester:

Ordinary Differential Equations
Engineering Physics II
Advanced Large Scale Digital Design
Operating Systems Security
Web/CGI Programming using PERL
Chemistry (they make us take it)

07.21.05:: Living up here in Columbia these days => I live here.

06.02.05:: If you don't know already, i'm moving to Columbia, MD the end of June. I'll be working with the SOI right at school full time for the summer, as opposed to barely part time from home.
If anyone wants to help me move or come visit, IM me (since my phone is still broke). :-)

05.10.05:: Out of school for the summer, working at home, taking a class at Wor-Wic...that about sums it up. Looks like i'll be around town almost all the time for the next couple of months, so all my stalkers don't have to drive as much as before. Always gotta think of the stalkers.

03.16.05:: Not a lot going on. It's somewhere around seven weeks left of school at this point, so that rules. I'm still not sure where i'm gonna work this summer, so if anyone knows of anywhere that needs a Computer Engineering major with one year left to go to work over the summer, shoot me a line.
By the way, I got a new cell number. IM me at WiLLy DreW 02 on AIM, or shoot me a line at yeah4444@yahoo.com if you wanna get it from me

01.12.05:: Hey, still here at good ol' Capitol, here's what i'm taking this semester:

Automated Test Systems
Web Programming Languages
Writing Seminar in Technical Research
Computer Graphics
Numerical Analysis
Ethics

And i'll get home earlier and leave later too ;-)

10.08.04:: Back here at Capitol now. If you think you don't see me as much, you're probably right, i've been staying up here at school more and more weekends. Not a whole lot new to this site, since theres not a whole lot of traffic coming through this dusty corner of angelfire's servers. Shoot me a line sometime at my gmail account (Address Removed)

08.06.04::Only two weeks left till fall semester, and two weeks left of my job at Conectiv Power in the Planning & Design department of the Salisbury District (BRO). Gonna miss that job, its a great place to work.
But life goes on. Wanna know anything else, ask.

04.30.04::Week of finals coming up this monday, then i'm done school this year. Good riddance, this year has been crazy.

01.14.04::Back in school now, here's what i'm taking this semester:

-Linear Algebra
-Digital Design I (EE-304)
-Microprocessors and Microassembly (EL-262)
-Computer Science Fundamentals II (CS-230)
-Engineering Physics I
~All my classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays this semester, so hit me up on my days off~

01.03.04::Well, I got a little more than a week left for Christmas break now...Christmas was sweet, my sister got me a PS2 :) .New Year's Eve was sweet too, thanks to good ol' Mansy
Looks like i'll (hopefully) be home a little more this semester, kiddies. My last class of the week ends early Thursday, so i'll be home that night (in time for karate ;-) ). And finally... SOMEDAY, I'll finally get some new pics up..so keep checking back

10.30.03::The Haunted forest was a big sucess:) Although I sprained my ankle on the first run, and was out the rest of the night, people say it was our best one yet.
Check my picture section around next week or the week after, i'm gonna finally add a bunch of the pics from Miami

09.24.03::Alright, I know i've been slow to update this page, but I really haven't had much demand to update this crappy little page :-D but feel free to email me your suggestions at yeah4444@yahoo.com, i'll make sure to forget about doing them. Anyway, for all those interested (Crisfield area most likely), the 3rd annual Haunted Woods is coming up soon! Its gonna be the best yet, now with all new effects, and probably even dead stuff!;-)
Well back in school now too, here's the classes i'm taking:

-Calculus II
-Digital Electronics(EL-204)
-Discrete Math
-Database Management
-English Communications II

01.06.03::Ah, beginning of the new year calls for a few cosmetic changes to the site. Best thing I added was this spiffy little scroll window, since all my messages were starting to take up alot of room. O well, one semester down, another to go...yay... :)

11.05.02::Well, just got back from Morgantown,West Virginia, with Chosen Generation. We ended up doing street drama for 4 hours Saturday night. We got to minister to people on the street, it was awesome. Sunday morning, before our 8 hour drive home, we went to this church that had a hard rock band doing worship....awesome. We got a couple of offers to go back to West Virginia, and even to North Carolina with this other Christian rock band. All in all, pretty good trip, can't wait for the next one :)

10.14.02:: Lets talk about a movie real quick....
Lets just say, there is a movie, with Vin Disel. Now lets also say that this movie was supposed to be the Godfather with Fast and Furious tendencies.. Now lets say I go see that movie, and it turns out that the "mob" in this movie are more or less bad actors with bad italian accents, and the Vinnie Mack has roughly 14 lines the whole movie...I would say that once again, I have wasted my $8.25.

9.23.02::Back to movies, I wanna say that Stealing Harvard is a waste of money. Stay home kids, save your $8.25 for college books.

9.10.02::Yes yes, the ever-famous HAUNTED TRAIL is coming up - contact me or Mansy for information

8.25.02::Hey if you don't see me around much now, maybe its cause i'm in college now. Drop me a line and let me know you're still alive :)

8.08.02::Well, only less then two weeks from now, I will be in college.Went and saw Signs recently, very good movie. You ever notice that this center column is turning into a movie review section?? +_+

6.28.02::Just got back from a good ol' roadtrip up to Fredrick, MD to go say happy b-day. That was cool, but the camp.....lets just say that thats not gonna get a link to the right :)

6.17.02::Well today I went to the beach. Now I am nice and burnt. Nothing else to say really. Come back in August, then i'll have something to say :)

6.7.02::Nothing new, just the same ol' stuff. Try checking my friends' pages, they might have something interesting :)

5.29.02::Well, tomorrow night's graduation. Not too excited, but it'll probably hit afterwards. The Coffee House was a big hit this past Friday, and we had over 80 people all together. We expect that many, and more this coming Friday the 31st. Come out some time! For directions, just go to the Coffee House Site.

5.17.02:: Today, I saw STAR WARS - ATTACK OF THE CLONES. This movie, by far, surpassed all expectations, and prooved to be the best movie I have seen in a long time (definitely up there with Spider-Man, Lord of the Rings, The Count of Monte Cristo, ect). Very good movie, i'd recommend it to anyone.

5.8.02::I have to take this opportunity to say....SPIDER-MAN IS THE BADDEST MOVIE EVER! To those who are "slang inclined", I saw Spider-Man, and thought it was a good movie. 12 DAYS LEFT OF HIGH SCHOOL FOREVER!!...(yes, I know I have to go back there for graduation, and yes, I realize i will probably go inside the high school once or twice after leaving, so don't even bother pointing it out!) LoL

5.2.02::Hey just got back from the Potomac Youth Convention in Woodbridge, VA. Very good. The Supertones were off the hook, son!
