Although I haven't had many questions about this site, I will post them here as I receive them.  Please also check What's New for more recent news items.

About Genealogy

Q:  What is the best way for a beginner to get started using the Internet to do genealogy research?

A:  The best way I can think of is to visit Cyndi's List, a constantly growing, carefully organized list of over 30,000 links to genealogy sites all over the world.


Q:  Where can I find more information on North Carolina genealogy?

A:  Visit the links on my Links page.  There is at least one link for every county in North Carolina.


Q:  How often are your links updated?

A:  Not as often as I'd like.  Probably every 8 to 12 months.  I have spent most of the limited time I have to work on this website building and correcting the census pages and the index.  If you find a broken link, I'd appreciate an e-mail (See bottom of page for e-mail link.), and I will continue to periodically check all the links and update them.


About Me

Q;  How did you get involved in genealogy?

A:  My uncle gave me research materials that had been put together by an ancestor of his, and together we added to that it until his death in 1990.


Q:  Tell us something about yourself.

A:  For many years, I have been a legal secretary in the Washington, D.C. area.  Due to several chronic illnesses, my hobbies tend to be those I can do while resting, such as reading and watching TV.  When I'm active, I enjoy hiking in the woods with my two dogs, computer graphics and website creation, antiques shopping and decorating.
