Portion Control


"I am currently trying to adapt my eating habits in a way that I will stick with for good -- a new lifestyle of eating. Portion control plays a big role in this new lifestyle. I try to keep my calories between 1200 and 1500 to lose weight, but I will raise that for maintenance when I am at my goal weight. I can eat anything I want as long as it is in moderation. However, I have also attempted to incorporate more healthful foods into my diet -- eating low-fat foods instead of regular, more fruits and veggies and staying as close to the pyramid plan as possible." - Marcia

"I am currently using a combination of the portion plan (www.nourishnet.com) and DietWatch. I am aiming for 1350 to 1500 intake calories perday, as well as exercising at the gym. I am aiming for an expended calories loss of between 1300 and 1450 per day.

The first week, I lost 5 pounds and 4.75 inches. This past week, I lost 0.25 inches, weight stayed the same... Overall though, I am down 17094 calories--which comes out to about 5 pounds...so I figure I'm right on track and will hit another loss this week." - Christy
