WHAT WAS

NAMES: Roman Augustus Brady and Marlena Evans Craig Brady

THE FINE ACTORS WHO PORTRAY(ED) THEM: Deidre Hall and Josh Taylor; Wayne Northrop (1981-1984; 1991-1994).

WEDDING: Took place in 1983. The wedding almost didn't happen, though. First, an assassin was sent to kill Roman at the tuxedo store, but Roman recognized him from a mug shot and fought him, shooting him dead. At the church, another assassin tried to kill him from the choir loft, but the two succeeded in getting married.

CHILDREN: Twins Eric Roman Brady and Samantha (Sami) Jean Brady were born in 1984, which would make them about 15 today, but currently on the show they are in their early twenties.

HOW THEY MET: Marlena was receiving threatening phone calls at her radio talk show, as well as at home. Roman, a police officer, was sent to investigate. He ended up camping out overnight on her living room floor as part of his assignment.

NICKNAMES: Roman calls Marlena "Doc", a nickname that John later adopted when he was brainwashed by Stefano to think he was Roman.

THE PEOPLE WHO ARE A THREAT TO THEM

John: Marlena's husbend. Over a year ago, she had to make a choice between her two husbends: Roman and John. She had a hard time deciding, but finally Roman backed out and gave them his blessing.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS COUPLE

I would rather see Marlena with John than with Roman. I really see little hope for this couple anyway, now that Marlena has married John. I am glad that Roman is trying to move on.

NAMES: Lucas Roberts and Nicole Walker Roberts

THE FINE ACTORS WHO PORTRAY(ED) THEM: Bryan Dattilo and Arianne Zucker

WEDDING: A small ceremony with just them and a priest. She married him because Kate, Lucas's mother, payed her millions. Also to protect Eric, her one true love, from finding out about her hidden past. Lucas had no idea that his mother payed the bride off until Nicole recently clued him in. They later divorced.

SPECIAL GIFT: Lucas has given Nicole lots of gifts, including an expensive dimond neckless, but I doubt any of them were special to her.

THE PEOPLE WHO WERE A THREAT TO THEM

Nicole: She never loved him. In fact, she couldn't stand him.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS COUPLE

He found out about her deception and divorce followed. He was burned in a fire that his mother caused and is currently away from Salem, in rehab. Nicole is shacking up with Lucas's (almost) ex-stepfather, Victor.
