Private Wallace Bowling Camp #1400, S.C.V.


          

The Pvt. Wallace Bowling Camp #1400, one of numerous camps within the State of Maryland, was officially chartered in La Plata, May 1982, in honor of Pvt. William Wallace Bowling, a local patriot who served the South as a member of Co. A, 2nd Maryland Infantry, C.S.A.

The Pvt. Wallace Bowling Camp #1400 is presently composed of 46 members. Tweleve of which are life members. These descendants boast a unique variety of ages and occupations, from middle, high school and college students, high school principals, teachers, professionals, small business owners, and clergy to government employees, industrial and service employees, farmers, retirees, military veterans, firefighters and more.

While the majority of members reside in Southern Maryland, the Pvt. Wallace Bowling Camp #1400 is proud to knowledge that it has patriotic members residing in such distant localities as Florida, Massachusetts, Virginia and West Virginia.

Membership

The Private Wallace Bowling Camp now offers four types of memberships:

Official Membership

Any male over the age of twelve shall be eligible for membership, who is the lineal or collateral descendent of an ancestor who rendered active service to the Confederate States of America. Annual Renewal Dues are $33.50, New members and the reinstatement of expired membership $38.50

The Cadet Program

The Cadet Program is for male desendants under the age of 12. Cadets receieve a certificate and are inducted into the camp with the same ceremony as an Offical Member at the camp meetings. Applications are available from the camp and are recorded at the National HQ. Annual Cadet Dues are $20.00

Associate Membership

This membership is for any official member of the Sons Of Confederate Veterans who has joined under another camp in the organization but wishes to also belong to the Pvt. Wallace Bowling Camp. Annual Associate Dues are $20.00

Friend of the Camp

This membership is for any male or female of all ages who cannot or does not have a confederae ancestor but would like to support the camp. This membership can also be used by any male over the age of 12 or older who is currently researching their Confederate Ancestor. Annual Friend of the Camp Dues are $20.00
