Further Career Information 3

Sellers & Co (Huddersfield) Limited

In the ten years at the company, I initiated many marketing-associated actions which continue to date.
I was the first individual at the factory to start working on computer wordprocessing and database systems.  I specified the first systems for the secretarial staff in the changeover from electric typewriters.  I was the resident "Word" expert for the first few months …
I was the editor and chief contributor to the in-house magazine "
Sellers Scene", which was also distributed to customers world-wide.  I was the Secretary, for four years, of the reconstituted Sellers Sports & Social Club.
I organised participation in over 50 trade exhibitions around the world, from original application, to design and final build of the stand.  I was a member of the representative team at over 30 of these international events.
I represented the company on the Exhibitions Committee of the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA), as well as standing in at General Meetings.
My position was made redundant in March 1995, although I retained contact with the company through Bell Marketing's role as representative in the CIS.
