This is a story I wrote to show how the immortals came to be.
Now look deep in your hearts, do you feel the pain?
The life which we live, it drives us insane.
In years from now the time will come for us to take control,
We must unite, to make things right and create a world that's whole.
But in the future, a story told, this is one to be,
Of how immortals came to Earth and left the night to me.
I lay in my bed, slightly asleep,
When all of a sudden my heart took a leap.
I jumped out the bed and looked out the door,
The sun is out now, but it's only four.
As I look deeper I see what it is,
There is a portal in the sky, and something appears.
The something is a someone, too dark to see,
And for some strange reason, I know he's come for me.
He is a grim looking man, with long hair and dark eyes,
His cloak floats around him, as he descends from the skies.
I look around me now and I slowly find,
That I have been joined by more of my kind.
People are gathering down the road so long,
Wondering and hoping that this man will be gone.
But not such a thing will happen this night,
A monster like this has come for a fight.
He now stands before us, and speaks with open arms,
"I shall not kill you," he says, “I bring you no harm.
I have come with a message, from The Keeper Of Souls,
We want your world now, your time has grown old.
If you give in now I can more than guarantee,
Life will be much better, just wait and see.
So who will take charge? Who will now speak?"
He looks around at us all, but we all feel too weak.
He looks around again, as we sit and stare
And chooses just one. “You man, come here."
A young man he has chosen, no more than 18,
Who walks over to him, and a girl begins to scream.
"Please don't hurt him, I love him soo much."
But the Dark Man just smiles, and kills him with a touch.
A few cries fall, from the crowd that's now formed,
And I look up to the sky and see the approachment of a storm.
Thunder and lightning cracks in the distance,
And the girl that once screamed, approaches with no resistance.
"We can stand strong, you can't take us all,
This world is ours, what makes think we'll just fall?"
"Look at the world you live in today,
How many people does one have to slay?
Look at the convicts, the prisoners and such,
Do they alone give your argument much?
Mortals are sick and you all are a plague,
But we are the cure, you stupid old hag."
And with those words the Dark Man moves swift,
And touches the woman, and she falls with a drift.
A gust of wind catches her, and floats her away,
And a few of us now have kneeled to pray.
"Is this all you have?" The Dark Man now asks,
"If the world is falling apart, how long will it last?
He then turns and slowly starts to walk,
A few in the crowd gather courage to talk.
"Where are you going? What will you do?"
"I am just a messenger, but I shall bring them to you
Follow me now and I’ll show you the way,
You are just little puppets, enjoy your last day."
And with that he floats to the sky,
And many sit and wonder what it's like to die?
I walked around for hours on end, with this same thought in my mind,
'I know that humans aren't the best, but not all are the evil kind.
If one can find the love I know then they are so much more,
Cause if one can live and learn to love with a heart that's sore,
Than I can prove to the immortals that our life's are still good,
And not all humans are so bad, a lot are just misunderstood.
I kept on walking till I got to the beach,
The sun is setting, but still I find it hard to believe our lives are out of reach.
'I know that I can prove that all mortals aren't bad and we shouldn't loose our lives.'
But how could just one prove to be the saver of our times?
I stayed sitting on the beach far past sunset, hungry but I don’t care,
This situation that has already risen seems a bit unfair.
I looked at my watch it was going on three,
I just have one more hour left to me.
So I will spend it the best way that I know how, watching the stars in the sky,
But in the back of my mind I cried 'I just don't want to die'.
An hour passed as I was watching the stars and a single tear I left,
As the portal opened once again from which the Dark Man had stepped
Floating to the floor once again he looks at me and grins,
"I hope for your sake, that the time that you've had, you kept a limit to your sins."
He walks over to me and a crowd starts to form as people begin to come out.
They know the time has come to die so they sit and watch me shout.
"This is unfair, how can you judge all of these people by the minority’s mistakes?
If you choose to kill us all than my life I let you take.
It's pointless to me that you would want a world that is already dying,
What good can you do? An immortal's power is only made for destroying."
"I see you know well of what you speak," The Dark Man softly says.
"But this isn't my choice, I don’t like this earth but I must see you all dead."
And with that he threw his arms in the air and cried out for his Lord.
And with a crack of lightning the portal reopened and out stepped a man of sort.
He came down slowly, dressed in the same cloak as the Dark Man wore,
His hair was the same length, but despite all their features, he still out did him in power,
The man did speak but ever so soft, like the wind that began to blow.
"I am what you call death, so take your last breath. I am The Harvester Of Souls!"
He reached to the sky to bring forth the power and call upon another,
"The Keeper come forth and take all of these, I beg of you my brother!"
And with that a new image came from the skies a one with much darker powers.
He appeared with a darkness I’ve never seen in my life and minutes seemed like hours.
"I am The Keeper Of Souls,” he said with a smile, “and all of your lives are gone.
But for all of your sakes, I leave all your fate, up to the argument of one."
I stepped forth to the man in the cloak who grinned at me with shame,
I looked to his eyes, all I saw was evil, and face filled only with pain.
I hang my head as he spoke to me, in a voice I know all to well,
"All human kind, has fallen behind and is on its way to hell."
"But what about those who have devoted their life, to do all the things they believed right.
This isn't the time for the immortals to rise. This is the time for us all to unite.
Humans will control the world forever, no matter what you think you see,
Cause even though we kill one another we are still stronger than you will ever be.
When we help one another we may just find, that peace is the best way for all,
But human kind's nature to kill their own brothers will be our only fall."
The Keeper looked at me with a devilish grin and smiled the two.
"But if we leave you no world to live on, what will the humans do?"
I started to scream in a rage and cry, “Than neither of us will win,
Cause without a world for us to live on you have no where to begin."
The Keepers smile began to fade and on it replaced a frown.
He spoke to me in a voice so deep it chilled me just by the sound.
"I'll tell you what, whoever you are, you represent your kind well.
But I hate all mortals’ faces and I hate your putrid smell.
You make me sick, you piece of shit, I can't wait to see you die..."
The Keeper took a deep breath and looked to the side to let out one last sigh.
"...But alas I give you one more day, that's all you'll ever need,
Look around at your own hell, and see the lives of greed.
The place that I will send you is much better then this land,
The flames of hell are all the same as every mortal man.
If you disagree, just wait and see twenty-four hours from now,
All of you shall die, look in my eyes, and think that this is just how.
The darkness will cover the land of the light,
And all mortals will go and run in the night.
Hiding from us and all of our kind,
To get rid of you all is all in the mind.
With one touch I can destroy all,
You have to realize, that the immortal's rise, is only the mortal's fall."
With these words The Keeper looked up.
The sky turned pitch black, and the stars all lit up.
I looked in his eyes, and then to the stars,
And the immortals were gone for another twenty-four hours.
I walked back to my house and climbed into bed,
With sand on my feet, and death in my head.
I thought about my girl, as a few moments passed,
And sat up in bed as I realized at last.
If the world is going to end, no matter what's said,
Then I’ll spend it with the one I love to the very end.
I walked out of my house and then down the street,
Past the people who gathered and begun to weep.
As I approached her house she sat on her porch, watching the first rays of sun,
I walked over to her to give her a kiss and she knew that the time has come.
We walked down the road and down to the trees to the deadfall in the woods,
The pond shimmered softly as we sat at its bank, living our lives for good.
As the day passed, we reminisced and laughed, about all the times before,
And how we both wished, to the Lord up above that only we could have more.
As nighttime approached, we sat in a field, to watch the stars in the sky,
But unlike before, no one was outside, all were too scared to die.
We walked to the beach and lied there in peace, in the place I was the other night,
In each other's arms, we felt no pain from the harm, under the stars so bright.
As time drifted on the portal appeared back up in the sky,
I held her so close as if it was the only way I knew to say goodbye.
And with a flash of light they appeared through the dark,
Like a sudden flash of light or a bright burning spark.
The Keeper floated down, as we both sat up and looked in each other's eyes,
He spoke to us now, out of hate and pain. “I hope you're prepared to die."
I looked back to my girl, who looked back at me, and smiled with a tear.
"I love you soo much, never forget, you're all that I’ll ever hold dear."
As I gave her a kiss, thunder sounded loudly, as the wind began,
A strong gust seemed to push against my face, I looked up and took her hand.
The Keeper was floating back up the sky and vanished with his brothers.
As I sat on the beach, with the one that I love, I smiled like no other.
For the time that we sat I realized so much, and stared deep in her eyes,
And we embraced, one more time, as the sun, began to rise...
This story is more, than words on a page. It has meaning from my heart.
If you listened close to the story I told and payed attention from the start,
It's to let you all realize, upon this very night,
That a person can nevery truly be lost, all souls burn too bright...
