Mood:  cool
Now Playing: 800MhZ radio chatter
Topic: Building a Synthesizer
Well, I survived Hurricane Wilma completely intact, and I'm here to tell you about it. Actually, there's not that much to tell that I feel like sharing so I'll just talk about my Modular Synthesizer. The cabinet is about 85% full now, and the rest is on the way. I actually bought a second VCA from a guy named Chuck that I know from the Synthesizers.com user forum, so when everything arrives I'll have to put the MIDI interface on the back panel for the time being. I really want to get a Kenton Pro-2000 anyway, so that's not really a big deal. Running out of space in a modular cabinet is a great problem to have. It's an incentive to start building another! :-)

What's Happening Now
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: John Frusciante - The Will To Death
Topic: Building a Synthesizer
Well, it's been a while since my last post...I guess I'm just destined to be intermittent with this thing. Actually the blog hasn't been working. I'm gonna fix it.

My Synthesizers.com system first consisted of a cabinet, power stuff, and a Q116 Ring Modulator. Then there was the Q106 VCO, which was a birthday present from my friends Kathy and Chris, and then the Q108 Amplifier.

Fast forward. Now it consists of the aforementioned stuff, plus a Q104 MIDI interface and a Q109 Envelope Generator. So yes, I can actally make music with it now. Well, at least I can make chromatically pitched tones...but my Moogerfooger CP-251 does a lot of things that make it more musical. I like to use the LFO to do PWM.
There are so many more modules that are in the mail, or at least in queue to be in the mail...
More to come.

Also, my other new toy is the grand and glorious Roland Space Echo. It goes on every recording now.
Bye...
Matt
