Jean's Homepage (the truncated version of my old web-page - some data was lost when asiaonline when bankrupt)

Ok, ok, I'm finally getting down to writing my web-page after months of procrastination. Oh well, here goes:

Myself then and now:

I was born in Kuantan, Malaysia in 1966 (urrgghh, so old now), and I still love the beach (attached to roots, although I don't think I was actually born at the beach), and being a beach bum. Bred in Singapore, I consider myself more Singaporean than anything else. Still, when I turned 30 (urrgghh.......that was more than 4 years ago - geez, I keep having to update this line for some reason), I got bored with life there, so I packed my bags (actually it was just 1 bag) to seek adventure in the hustling and bustling city of Hong Kong. The time has really flown, and have more or less gotten used to the place (although I still cannot speak Cantonese).

In Hong Kong

Got myself a car and have increased the HK government's coffers somewhat by the number of parking and traffic fines I have to pay. My sense of direction is also a real hindrance to getting around Hong Kong. Actually, the public transport here is very good, fast and efficient and I am not adverse to taking the public transport when occasion calls for it. The most recent development regarding my car is that it decided to stall in the middle of the road and could not be resuscitated. Not very convenient as I was just back from the vet (no, not me) and my cat was rather annoyed at the delay in going home. Anyway, the new (2nd hand actually) car is great. Hardly uses any petrol at all.

Also got myself a place in the countryside in the more rural part of Hong Kong. Take a walk with me to the beach. Want to meet my housemates

So what is there to do in Hong Kong?
Beats me! But here are some web-sites with some suggestions:

My friends:

I have bullied them and continue to do so every time I return to Singapore: They have to pick me up from the airport, get me a car, have meals with me (and I can eat continuously - no mean task, I assure you), go for drinks (acshually I hardlly drink....hic!), take my phone calls, and make sure I'm safely at the airport when it is time to leave (or time to get rid of me).

Things to check out on the internet:

My oh my, the world is coming to an end..............my technologically idiotic mother actually has her own web-site. The world could be coming to an end............

My work:

By some stroke of luck, got into and out of medical school in Singapore with only minor bruises to my ego. Have been doing anaesthesia for some time now. Some say the specialty suits me: I just have to talk to my patients and they'll fall asleep. Currently, I'm employed as a medical officer in Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Hong Kong, although did a rotation in the Prince of Wales Hospital. My actual ambition is to be a beach bum.
