Miaka - along with her best friend Yui - finds an ancient book 'The Four Gods of Heaven and Earth'. By reading aloud from the book, Miaka and Yui find themseles transported back in time to ancient China. Miaka must rely on the skills of mercenary Tamahome to help her track Yui. Meeting the Emporor of Konan, Miaka is persuaded to become the Suzaku no Miko (Preistess of/to Suzaku) and begins the search for her seven guardian seishi (star warriors). Miaka must somehow find the strength to overcome the obstacles in her path, and summon the God Suzaku. Only then will she be granted three wishes, and perhaps have the chance to return home... |  |
