LATEST NEWS - Thursday 24th July


Broughton have made it through to Final's Day of the Touch Scotland Tournament on Saturday 26th July.

The event is due to start at 12 noon at Fettes school this Saturday. There will be several games and depending on how far we get, the final is scheduled for 5pm.
 


Pre-Season Training

Pre-season training sessions are currently taking place on Tuesday evenings at Edinburgh Accies ground @ Raeburn Place. We strongly advise you to get their early.  The session starts 6.45 for 7pm.  Thursday night sessions have commenced at Wardie and are 6.30 for 7pm.

New Coach for 2003/04

It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of new Club Coach, Jim 'The Pig' Michie.  The former Howe of Fife player and rugby celebrity takes over from Simon Harrison. More on this story later...

Fixtures on-line for new  season

Broughton will open up their campaign for 2003/04 at home against old rivals Forrester on Sunday 7th September.  Full 1st & 2nd XV Fixtures here

Cup Draw

Broughton have been drawn against Midlands District side Bannockburn at home in the 1st Round of the BT Cup.

New Appointments

For the 2003/04 Season there will be a few changes at the Club.  Last season's Player and Player's Player of the Year Duncan Nicolson, becomes Club Captain and 2001/02 Player of the Year Andy Turtle will be Vice-Captain.

Finally, your webmaster, prop and bottle washer Mark Brown, will take over the role as Honorary Secretary.  I am replacing Gordon McMillan, who after 34 years of service, must be congratulated on his efforts for the Club.


Youth Section

Our highly successful Youth set-up continues to run each Sunday at Wardie. Coaches are required to assist in the training.  All interested parties should contact Richard Chalmers a.s.a.p.  The fixtures / training dates for 2003/04 will be posted shortly.
