Welcome to www.angelfire.com/mb2/WinnipegFireDept the site dedicated to the Winnipeg Fire/Paramedic Service and the hard working men and women of the service. Unfortunately, this website will NO LONGER be updated due to a small conflict with the way the page is set up. I have set up a group with some pictures my friends, my parents and myself have taken of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and their stations, which can be found at WinnipegFireParamedicServiceStations@groups.msn.com. All pictures in that group are copywrite by the person who took them (it will say who took them) and CANNOT by any means be reproduced or used without permission from the person who took the pictures!! All members of the WFPS are free to join this group and add pictures of their own. There only Station I haven't got a picture of is #31 on Furby Street but I am working on it! I am also creating a group with pics of fire services and trucks from USA and the World, which I hope to have up and running by November 2003. Another group I have is http://groups.msn.com/RadusFirefightingGallery. This group has pictures of departments and trucks from all over Canada. A lot of thanxs is going out to all the firefighters and EMS personnel who helped with the information I have on that group. I will have a special page in the new group/website dedicated to 9/11. Some of the Services that are included in the Canadian group are Banff Fire Service, Jasper Fire Service, Ottawa Fire Department, Calgary Fire Department, Montreal Fire Department and a few more. The Livingston Fire Dept, Rapid City (ND) and Gardiner are among some of the US departments that will be included in the "USA & World" group. It's a litlle more difficult to convert video tapes to streaming computer files so 'runs clips' might have to wait a while. If you have any question or concerns, feel free to e-mail me at radu_fireman@yahoo.ca or Transcona_Fire_Rescue@hotmail.com. Thank-You & have a good day!

NEW CHANGES: The plans in the Tri-data report have been changed. The report was considering closing 5 of the 26 fire stations and building 2 new ones. Instead this is what will happened: 19 Station will be closed and moved on the 17-wing army base on the airport territory. 21 Station will move to Regent & Peguis. 4 Station will be moved to Osborne & Mulvey. 9 Station will stay where it is. Station 13 will be moved to Pembina and Waller. There's also a rumor that Station 12 will be closed and moved to Grant & Kenaston. If that happens we will be getting a new firehouse. Station 27 will be loctead somewhere near Stafford & Academy. This plan was announced on Monday, July 17, 2001.

E-mail me Radu if you have Questions or Comments. Banff Fire Department While on my trip, I dropped by the firehall in Banff at the corner of Beaver and Caribou. It is a fairly large station with 2 drive-through bays and 4 single bays. It gets an average of 300 calls a year. The members are paid on call and on hours worked. A lot of thanks goes out to Captain Terry Stauffer and to the District Chief for all the information and the T-shirt and cap. The Department has 2 pumper trucks: Pumper 1 holds 1050 gallons of water and Pumper 2 holds 1500 gallons of water; 1 aerial truck, which holds 1500 gallons; 1 rescue that holds air tanks and jaws of life, 2 suburbuns and a enviroment protection unit. Once again thanks a lot to the members of the Banff Fire Department and keep up the good work. Sorry, but pics will be posted soon, so please check back often!
