WOOD MEDICAL TRANSPORT SERVICES was established in April, 1998 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Our mission is to provide competent, safe, swift and comfortable transport for those who need a monitored medical environment between health care facilities, or their home/place of residence and healthcare in non-emergency conditions.

WOOD MEDICAL transports those whose medical concerns do not require emergency transport; specifically, those physically challenged who need transport by wheelchair capable van or who would be more comfortable with an escort due to their dementia or Alzheimer's circumstance.

We find the families of patients suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's comfortable and grateful for the service we give when meeting their transport needs.

WOOD MEDICAL transports those requiring timely medical attention (e.g. emergency department services or "last minute" doctor/clinic visits) or those whose medical attention can be scheduled in advance.

WOOD MEDICAL staff all hold nursing and emergency medical certifications.

WOOD MEDICAL vehicles are all well-maintained, air conditioned and comfortable for in-town and long-distance travel.

WOOD MEDICAL is fully insured and meets all requirements of the Virginia Department of Transportation and local municipal ordinances.
