Just read the new story, "A Prayer for the Dying." It was different from your usual pieces, and I liked it tremendously. The briefness of the story really did the content of it justice... short, like the time Chakotay spent with the dying Kathryn. The emotion of the piece was also captivating... that he left her, never spoke to her again, even knowing that she was dying... it was cold, and yet understandable--for anyone who knows what it is like to see a loved one die also knows that oftentimes, however briefly, an out like Chakotay's is considered. That Chakotay acted on this out, and had to deal with feelings of regret later, was explored here nicely. The last few lines gave me chills.
