CHILDREN'S COLOR LIGHTHOUSE
BY ANNE SHIRLEY MANION

BE SURE TO VISIT THE CHILDREN'S COLOR RAINBOW VERSES

FIRST.....LET ME TELL YOU SOME CUTE TALES OF THINGS THAT CHILDREN HAVE DONE.

KIDS WILL ALWAYS SAY THE CUTEST THINGS:

A toddler who was always around books and never ripped them went into the local Library with her mother. The Librarian, a rather crotchity older man, proceeded to give them a hassle fearing the child would hurt his books. Once out the door the child said seriously. "HE'S The BOSS of that place,..isn't he."

A nine year old, whose father had left with a slightly younger woman, returning from a weekend visit at Dad's, said to the mother. "Dad sure got fooled when he went with that younger woman......SHE'S got false teeth and you don't."

A toddler boy often seemed to prefer sitting on the lap of his well endowed Grannie rather than that of his Mom. When questioned, he replied. "Grannie has pillows."

JOKE: "Papa, are you growing taller all the time?"
"No, son, why do you ask?"
"Because the top of your head is poking up through your hair."

LET US DO SOME TOURING OF SOUTHERN ONTARIO, CANADA:

Southwesten Ontario, Canada is where I have lived most of my life. It is a small area between Lakes Huron and Erie, actually more southerly than many U.S. States, and heavily populated in some areas. The farm land is very diverse, however, from grapes to tobacco, from corn to vegetables, from dairy areas to all other kinds of livestock..along Lake Erie it is known as The Carolinian Forrest..many of the animals, trees, and flowers are found only in this part of Canada.

INSPIRATION: "I can complain because rose bushes have thorns OR rejoice because thorn bushes have roses"............

STRATFORD-UPON-AVON is my home City at present. It was voted "The Most Beautiful City in The World" last year. This is because of all the fabulous flowering gardens that are planted for The Tourists who come here for our famous STRATFORD SHAKESPEAREAN FESTIVAL. Bus loads of students are arriving daily to view the various plays at three theatres. Once summer vacation starts people are everywhere, especially along Lake Victoria that runs through the center of The City. Picnickers, walkers, rollerbladers, bicylists and even those in wheel chairs travel around the lake to view the black swans, the white swans, families of baby ducks, Canada Geese, birds, and squirrels that will almost eat out of your hands. In the water canoes, paddle boats and a pontoon boat witrh passengers will be seen gliding past. On land you can take the double-decker bus for a City Tour or just walk to all the neat shops...........

HANDY HINT: Gardening. If you save your hanging basket planters you can refill them for the cost of a box of plants. They are nice in one color or mix and match colors and flowers. Pansies can be planted early in the Spring and also make nice hanging baskets, use assorted colors.

HALLOWEEN is a fun time for kids. Neither of mine liked licorice or candy kisses, so I always got them to eat. When my son was six he came home from trick-or-treating and said to me. "Those people down the street don't like kids." I asked why and he answered. "They are giving out licorice."

JOKE: You know, it's too bad life's problems can't hit us when we are teenagers and we know all the answers.

PORT BURWELL on Lake Erie is my second home. It is a small Town in Winter, but grows in Summer with many campers and cottagers. CANADA's OLDEST WOODEN LIGHTHOUSE is located here. If you watched the series Friday The Thirteen you may have seen it (of course the town was supposed to be in U.S). Visitors may climb to the top if they so desire or visit The Marine Museum across the road. There are several campgrounds and Provincial Park with a vast sandy beach and fully treed campsites. Dine on local fish at restaurants overlooking the Harbour..YOU can visit many Lake Erie and Lake Huron Lighthouses at my Lighthouse News link below...

.NEWS BULLETIN: LAKE ERIE FISHERMEN REPORT THAT MANY VARIETIES OF FISH ARE RETURNING TO THE LAKE THAT HAVE NOT BEEN SEEN FOR MANY YEARS.....

..(see link)(see Shirley's Personal link)

JOKE: Two teenagers at a modern art exhibit stared at a wildly abstract painting.
One of them said to the other, "Maybe we should leave here before they think we did it."
I used to have a small Tourist Store in Port Burwell. Since it was just a summer business I calculated my sales with pen and paper. One day a very precocious little boy was shopping and looked at me in a curious way. "Is this a REAL STORE?" he questioned. I asked why and he responded. "WELL..., you don't have a cash register."

In my store, I once purchased a manequin for modelling bathing suits. It had no arms, no legs, and no head. Many children would seem to be rather disturbed by this and often asked questions about it. This kind of bothered me. One day three, slightly tipsy, male campers came in and wanted to know if they could purchase the manequin to put in their absent buddy's bed as a joke. I wasn't long agreeing to the sale, and off they went down the main street with the nude part-lady over their shoulders. It attracted a bit of attention but was good for a laugh.

JOKE; Did you hear about the sailor who did the RIVERDANCE? .......
He drowned...........

ST. MARYS is a nice little Town I lived in for fifteen years. It is called THE STONETOWN since most of the older buildings are made of stone from two large quarries. One is now a fabulous swimming place. You must know how to swim to go here, because it is so deep, but floating is no problem. THE CANADIAN BASEBALL HALL OF FAME is erected here now.........

..

HEALTH TIPS; Most people benefit from exercise and in some cases even walking or gentle stretching is better than non movement, but once you feel pain it may be too much...........

KITCHENER was my birthplace. The annual OKTOBERFEST is a great party event. There are many German Clubs because of the early settlement here. It is actually a twin City with Waterloo, which is noted for its Universities. A large but beautiful City area..

..

REMEMBER: Today is the FIRST DAY of the rest of your LIFE. Have a good one...........

CANADIANA INFO:

I will attempt to give you a few items of interest about Canadians.

It has become a common joke that we all say Eh? Actually I had never heard this expression until it became a joke on Saturday Night Live.
Most of us do not speak French. I do not myself, although it would be nice.
I lived in Florida for six years and many people would say that I said aboot and oot instead of about and out. I really couldn't hear any difference.

We spell some of our words differently, such as: colour, centre, catalogue, favourite, cheque, aluminium, harbour, etc. so I have to be careful or sometime my links won't work..lol.
A chesterfield is a sofa not a cigarette.
We say a can of pop instead of a can of soda.
We go on holidays not always called vacations. Most of our holiday weekends are held on the Monday except July 1st which is Canada's birthday and is held on the exact date.

CHILDREN'S COLOR RAINBOW

COLOR ........GREEN.......

.

Meet the GREEN queen.
Sometimes she's a mean, GREEN queen.
She loves her GREEN gown
And her GREEN emerald crown.
The queen has GREEN eyes
Even GREEN in her skies.
She loves her GREEN trees
And the GREEN in her seas.
There is GREEN in her beans
A hint of GREEN in her jeans.
Her flowers grow tall on GREEN stems
And all her rings have GREEN gems.
She has the GREENEST, GREEN grass
And drinks from a GREEN glass.
So if you should pass
Her GREEN castle of glass
Wave your GREEN gloved hand
At her GREEN, GREEN land.
And the mean GREEN queen
Will be a keen, GREEN queen.
She'll invite us all
To the gala, GREEN ball
In the tall, GREEN hall
That's not very small.
We will eat GREEN apples and pears
And sit on GREEN velvet chairs.
So bid the GREEN queen goodbye
With the wink of your GREEN eye....bye, bye

JOKE; When my friend heard taking a milk bath was good for her skin, she bought 10 gallons of milk from the milkman.
"Do you want it pasturized?" the milkman asked.
"No," said my mom, "up to my knees would be fine."

CHILDRENS COLOR RAINBOW

COLOR.....................YELLOW

The Bee is a YELLOW fellow
He doesn't eat Jello,
Or say "Hello".
Just Buzz, Buzz, Buzz
Whatever he does.
And he's covered with YELLOW fuzz, fuzz, fuzz.
He flies beneath the YELLOW sun,
Until his pollen collecting is done.
And he really thinks it's fun, fun, fun.
YELLOW flowers,
He visits for hours.
Or buzzes around in YELLOW towers.
If you should see that YELLOW guy
He might be eating YELLOW banana pie.
Be sure to wish him a YELLOW good-bye.
Good Bye....
