The original building was established in 1860. It is one of the oldest commercial buildings in the mainstreet of Takaka. It has a large front verandah where many bikes seek refuge from the weather.

The shop has a long history of trading in bicycles as well as many other goods. The matai floor inside follows an interesting contour, the highest point now resting on an old rata tree stump. The lowest point can be easily identified by the large collection of assorted ball bearings gathering there.

There is usually a coffee going and a guitar sits in the corner. Behind the counter you will usually find Martin or Brent.
