This page is to serve as a log of horses thought to carry the "new" dilution gene. These horses appear to have a dilution gene that is not cream, dun, silver or champagne.
All of the designations on this page are extremely tentative.

A Note About Names
UC Davis has named the gene, but so far there is no suggested guidelines for nomenclature.
Therefor, the terms used below are offered as one alternative.
Chestnut + One Apricot Gene = Chestnut Horse ("Chestnut Apricot")
Chestnut + One Apricot Gene + One Cream Gene = Pseudo Cremello Horse ("Palomino Apricot")
Bay + One Apricot Gene + One Cream Gene = Pseudo Perlino Horse ("Buckskin Apricot")
Chestnut + Two Apricot Genes = Pseudo Palomino Horse ("Tawny")
It is suggested that apricot be given a unique "shade name" when found in it's homozygous state, given the necessity of differentiating between a chestnut horse with one copy of the gene and another with two copies. No name is suggested for a homozygous apricot on a bay, black or brown base because we don't know what their appearance would be.
