The greatest beauty on earth is found in the

hearts of those we love.

The wolf is the most misunderstood animal on the face of the earth. We have been misinformed by poorly collected data, myths and fairy tales. Because of this and the government, they have been hunted, tortured and drove to near extinction.

The wolf has never hunted man in his quest for food, just other animals. Mostly the sick and injured. Natures way of keeping the balance. He is a majestic animal.

HISTORY OF POPULATION DECLINE

During the late 1800s, settlers in the western United States began to hunt bison and other animals that provided prey for local wolves. These same settlers also began to raise livestock.

Not surprisingly, some wolves turned to the domestic livestock as alternative prey, creating hatred for and even fear of wolves among the early settlers.

Current evidence suggests that the wolf populations are recovering. Wolves have moved from central and southern Canada into Montana's Glacier National Park and are migrating south, perhaps along old logging trails.

An estimated 40 to 50 wolves now roam in northwestern Montana, and there may by 10 to 20 more in central Idaho. Wolves have also been spotted in Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Washington's Cascade Mountains, and Yellowstone National Park.

They have been reintoduced into Arizona, and Mexico on an experimental basis. And it is working so far.

I am doing what I can to keep the wolf safe.I am the director of the club called "Champion of the Wolf" (C.O.T.W.). Also a member of the International Wolf Center in Ely Minnesota.

Some of the info on this page was furnished by a very close friend "shadow Wolf". Also alot of information I recieve from my magazine I recieve from the International Wolf Center also.
