The Ice Castle

Michelle Kwan is one of my favorite athletes. She is a fantastic skater and a great role model. Her strong skating, artistry, and elegance won (and continue to win) her 6.0's and the hearts of millions. She accepted defeat with dignity and grace and showed America what a real champion was. Always modest and considerate and never boastful, Michelle embodies all that a great skater and future legend should be.

Michelle is the holder of over twenty titles and the winner of three World championships[1996, 1998, & 2000!], four National Championships [1996, 1998, 1999, & 2000!], and an Olympic silver medal [1998]. She has also won 42 perfect marks of 6.0 in her skating career to date (I know that this number is higher now in the year 2000, but I'm not sure exactly what it is). Michelle is the most decorated female figure skater of the decade.

"I didn't lose the gold. I won the silver."

"Work hard, be yourself, have fun."- Michelle Kwan

A Champion in Every Sense of The Word

"Michelle Kwan Showed America How To Turn Silver Into Gold." The caption says: "Her grace and dignity won something far more precious than gold; it won the heart of a nation."~~> Silver to Gold
