A page of Fury!

Dedicated to celebrating the glory and beauty of the 1969 Plymouth Fury.

If you are looking for general information on the Plymouth Fury, you should check out the links below for some interesting stuff!

The purpose of this site is to show MY fabulous Fury, and maybe make some connections with people interested in this vintage of Fury.

This car was purchased new in the autumn of 1969.  Driven by it's original owner for 6 years, it was garaged in 1975 - a victim of soaring gas prices.  In that lonely spot it sat for 21 years, until I trailered it up to my place, where it spent an additional 2 years on my driveway covered with tarp.

In the fall of 1997, we threw in a battery, changed up some fluids, put in some new sparks and whatnot...and after a 23 year sleep, she roared to life!

Closer examination revealed that the car was structurally solid, but needed some mechanical attention...hence I embarked on what will likely be a multi year restoration project.

Here are some pictures of the work in progress:

These will take you to some nice clear daytime pics of the car.
Its no showcar, just a 99% original daily driver that took a 21 year rest...!

Looming in the night - 1969 Fury III

The body is really solid on this vehicle.  This car has the original black vinyl roof and white paint.  The interior is showing signs of wear and will need to be redone some time soon.

Engine view - 318 cu.i.

Your basic 318 V8.  An unusual feature of this car is that while most Fury III models came with a few options, this one is pretty much devoid of convenience features.  Standard steering and brakes, no power options, and not even a factory radio.

Driver's view

1969 was the first year of a new dash layout - padded passenger side with all the controls focussed to the driver.

Nice night for a cruise.

This car is a pure highway cruiser...just made for those straight and wide open prairie highways.  And best of all, no computers, no airbags, and no technogizmos. Just 30 year old automotive technology at it's finest!

Click the star to read "Learning To Love A Plymouth". Gives you some idea of the strange background you need to be a die hard Plymouth fan. Includes pics of various Chrysler products I've owned, and other... "out of the ordinary" vehicles I've had some association with.

Here are some interesting links:

Formerly Dodge/Chrylser / Plymouth Central, ALL PAR is probably the first link you would want to check out.  This has everything the Fury fan could need to know about various models in the Chrysler group.

Adam's Fury II and Fury III Adam is located in southern Ontario and has not one but TWO 69s. I have some pics of his wicked Fury II as well as of his Fury III hardtop. There is also contact information here if you want to reach him to talk Fury.

This is rare. A 1969 Fury 2-door sedan. That's right, sedan - not hardtop. Look closely and you'll see the post. The guy that sent me this indicates that there were only about a thousand of these made. I know I've never seen one. Hardtops, yes....but this is different.
