The Gandharvas
The Gandharvas are a band that originates from London, Ontario, Canada. Members include: Paul Jago (vocals/cans/piano), Beau Cook (bass), Jud Ruhl (guitar), Brian Ward (guitar), Tim MacDonald (drums).
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BAND:
The Gandharvas are a very different, eclectic type of band that Canada has taken for granted for a few years now. They released their first album A Soap Bubble and Inertia in 1994 and it caused a bit of a rucus for a while and even won them a few awards with their single The First Day of Spring that forces you to be succumbed into the world of the Gandharvas. They made some fans that have stuck by them through their 2nd album Kicking In the Water and up until the late 1997 when they released their 3rd album Sold For A Smile with the replacing of the original bassist, Eric Howden, with Beau. The latest album hit the charts with the first catchy single
Downtime and later on, the fabulous Watching the Girl.
The Gandharvas toured around Canada and the U.S. and made more and more fans that were taken aback by their powerful live shows. I mean, what other band has a cutie singer that does not only have a really awesomely different (Perry Farrell-like) voice that also plays the cans? It's just amazing how Paul goes on those things!
The latest I've heard on the Gandharvas was a rumor that the band kind of imploded and the only members left are Paul and Jud.... I'm not sure if this is true, but if you happen to have any info on this, email me please.
