PRAISE & WORSHIP? WHO, ME??
As what we believe in our hearts to be the end time revs up, we shall all see God's hand moving in ways we have never seen before, or in a frequency not seen before. As so many more new followers are coming into the houses of the Lord, some may not be familiar with the purpose of praise & worship. It is so much more than singing a few songs. While many churches have great groups with drums, guitars, and more, it might be easy to forget the true purpose while being caught up in the music. P&W teams, HEADS UP! Become ONE VOICE with one purpose! Body of Christ - really join in the praise and worship, and see the difference it will make.
Those who know your calling but have not yet stepped out - I exhort and encourage you today! If you know what God has said and you know that it is HE Who said it, don't just get your toes wet - JUMP IN! If it is truly God's calling, you will not drown! The time is growing so very short - it is time to give it your all! The fence is a mighty uncomfortable place to be. It is time to stop pretending that we did not hear and to walk in our callings, knowing that He has already blessed them and ordained them. How many of us are waiting until we "feel" the time is right, or we get a little smarter, or learn to sing a little better, or learn a few more scriptures, have better clothes, have a little more free time, etc etc etc.....How long will you wait atop the fence?

Praise and Worship plows the ground to make it ready for planting. A good worship team does the plowing and the pastor (and others) plant the seed. Without the plowing, the seed might fall on the stony ground and not take root!
My spirit grieves when I see those who don't participate during praise and worship. The Lord does not care if you can sing beautifully or not. He doesn't care if you cannot clap along with the music. He does want you to be a part of that corporate anointing received when we are all in one accord. You, Body Member, are just as important to the freedom and movement of the Holy Spirit as the people with the microphones or instruments. It takes every part to make the whole. Yes, the Holy Spirit still is welcome and still comes whether you are participating or not. But just imagine when we ALL get into one accord - we have not even begun to see the Glory of the Lord fall upon us!! I am not talking about the Holy Goosebumps, I am talking about the manifest presence of God, welcome and comfortable in a house that is fully focused on Him, praising Him and loving Him!! Hallelujah!
I grieve as I see the lack of unity in the church and Body these days. We need to focus not on our gifts, but the GIVER of the gift! Every church, each praise and worship team is fully able to experience being in one accord. God is not a respecter of persons. He gives equally to all who would but ask.
We might want to ask ourselves - what are we looking for? Are we placing a fleece (of our own choosing) before God? Are we looking for that burning bush in the front yard before we accept God's call on our lives?
Be assured that God knows you, knows your life, and knows your desires. He will not call you to do anything that opposes the desires He has already placed in your heart. (Jer. 29:11 - "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.") He goes on to say in v.14 that when we have sought Him with ALL our hearts (not just the parts we are willing to give), then "I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity." God even promises us godly freedom! Failure and fear are not even mentioned! Do you truly have anything worthwhile to lose?
