NON-NORTH AMERICAN LONGWAVE/MEDIUMWAVE FREQUENCIES
If you are getting serious about DX'ing the Longwave and Mediumwave frequencies outside of the Americas here is a guide to the frequencies that you should be tuning to.
In the Americas the stations are separated by 10 kHz while the rest of the world uses a 9 kHz spacing.
1566 1575 1584 1593 1602 1611
Australian Expanded band frequencies:
1620 1629 1638 1647 1656 1665 1674 1683 1692 1701
CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA SPLIT FREQUENCIES:
555
There are many parts of the world that use the Long Wave band to transmit radio programming. Here in North America these frequencies belong to the Aero Beacons from airports and other utility stations around the continent as well as Lowfer (Low Frequency) experimental stations. Many of these are very high powered stations with power well above the 50,000 watt maximum allowed in North America. The highest power I know of for a non-North American station is 2,000,000 (not a typo)watts.
