Lord Ganesh is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Ganesha is the lord of obstacles and is invoked at the start of any new undertaking. In so doing Ganesha can clear the path for its successful completion. He is often found together with Goddess Lakshmi as, amoung other things, they represent good luck and material prosperity. |
