Nominations/Wins/Achievements/Recognition: In 1996 Brandy received nominations for her debut album, Brandy. The nominations included Best Female R&B Vocal Performance [Baby] & Best New Artist. Brandy collected an American Music Award [for Favourite Soul/R&B New Artist], A NAACP Image Award, 2 Bill Board Awards, 4 Lady of Soul Award [including Entertainer of The Year], Brandy is now selling 4x Platinum US and more than 5x Platinum world-wide. Her hit soundtrack song, Sittin Up In My Room went #1 and than the heavenly song Missing You, which hit the Top 40. Now people are saying how Brandy has reached Whitney-like status in such a short time. Than again in 1997 Brandy received the honor to be nominated for two more Grammy Awards, including Best Pop Collaboration w/ Vocals [Missing You, with Tamia, Chaka Khan and Gladys Knight] and Best R&B Performance, Female [Sittin Up In My Room]. Brandy got positive MAD reviews on how well she did Cinderella, along with her idol Whitney Houston. Over 60 million viewers tuned in and it helped ABC get its Best Rating in over 13 years. In 1998 she took home a Block Buster Award for Favourite Female Artist - R&B. Than Brandy took home 3 Bill Board Music Awards including Top Dance Maxi-Single, Top 100 Sales Single, Top R&B Sales Single and a Bill Board Music Video Award for Best Clip [R&B/Urban] - All for The Boy Is Mine w/ Monica.
