James C. Hadley

James C. Hadley DINGMANS FERRY, Pa. - James C. Hadley, 81, formerly of Sparta, passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008. He lived in the Lake Mohawk section of Sparta for 27 years before moving to Dingmans Ferry in 1992. Mr. Hadley served in the Korean War in the Army, 2nd Infantry Division, 23rd Infantry/D Company where he received the purple heart. He also served in the Honor Guard where he marched on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Mr. Hadley worked in production management for a number of manufacturing firms in his career including Lockheed Electronics, Swan Manufacturing, Walter Kidde, Keystone Electronics, Bogue Electronics, Paramatic Filter and his own consulting company SHS Manual Systems before retiring in 1992. Mr. Hadley loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing and was a member of the Matamoras Rod and Gun Club in Pennsylvania. Mr. Hadley was predeceased by his two brothers, Clayton and Edwin Hadley. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eileen Mikosh Hadley; two sons, James Hadley and his wife, Janice, of Dingmans Ferry, John "Yosh" Hadley of Little Falls; two daughters, Janet Gardner of St. Cloud, Fla. and Lori Miller and her husband, Marc, of Dingmans Ferry; five grandchildren, Dawn Shimkovitch, Christine and Michael Hadley, and Nicole and Alex Miller; one brother, Alan Hadley of Racine, Wis.; several nieces and nephews and his dear companion Barney. Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family. Burial of urn will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
