There are several "online-isms" that have become popular when serving and should be avoided unless under the direct command of your owner.

These include:

1. Sweetening: A slave "sweetens" a beverage by rubbing the rim of the container upon her vaginal lips. There are no occurances of a slave ‘sweetening’ a beverage by this method within the books. The only sweetening found in the books is from sugar or honey.

2. Slave Heart: During a serve a slave holds the container to their heart to show devotion. This did not occur in the books.

3. Taking three steps back: It has become customary for the slave to take three steps back from the one she serves to show respect, love and devotion. This did not occur in the books.

4. Three beats of her heart: During a serve, a slave may hold the container to her heart for three beats, either after taking a sip of the beverage to test it for poison and ensure it's safety or to show love and devotion to the one she serves. This did not occur in the books.

5. Offering to "test" or "taste" the beverage or food being served: There is only one instance where a slave was used to test and or taste the drink of a Master and as can be seen, she was to have her own bowl.

“Bring two bowls.” I said.
“Two?” asked the girl.
“The slave,” I said, indicating Elizabeth, “will taste it first.”
“Of course, Master,” said the girl.
