FAVOURITE QUOTE?: "Oh, forgive me master, forgive me!" & "Lord Darkstorm will be pleased!"

VOICED BY?: the late Jonathan Harris, who was Dr.Smith in the 60s TV series "Lost In Space". One of the most famous voice actors on the show.

BIOGRAPHY: Mortdredd is the most loyal Darkling Lord to Darkstorm. He is the least likely to betray him, but his allegiance to Darkstorm is over-the-top, caring about him more than himself. However, he is the nicest of all the Darkling Lords, meaning, he's the one you wouldn't mind going for a pint with. Is he evil? That's questionable. He could be just misguided by the likes of Darkstorm and bullied at first into hanging around with him.

Mortdredd is a servant to Darkstorm and will do all of his dirty work if he has to. He has also served as a spy using a glider to overhear conversation at the Spectral Knights HQ in New Valarak, in his own clumsy way, as seen in the first episode "The Age of Magic Begins". He also adds comical relief to the show such as, distracting the Spectral Knight by getting spotted and shouting "Help!", and his polite, scaredy-cat voice.

Mortdedd was given the beetle as Totem Animal because of his grovelling and begging at Darkstorm and - you guessed it- bootlicking! Mortdredd doesn't really like his animal and thinks it's an insult. In the whole of the show, the beetle didn't come in handy very much, unless maybe good for spying, but useless in a fight.

His power to bring machines to life, made sure he was "the man" for whenever the Darkling Lords needed the "Sky Claw" vehicle. It is called the power of "Flight".

In the very short-lived comics, Mortdredd actually had a poem spell for his power of Flight.

"Wings of steel shall ride the breeze,

invade the air, the land, the seas."
