Match Report It was a pleasant Sunday at Reedy Creek where PACC was ready to take on ever-dangerous WICC. PACC still a strong candidate to be #1 had to win on the road to stay alive in the race to be # 1. Reedy Creek with a different look was ready to witness a good game, which had been flip-flop with rain and ground issues. PACC won the toss and elected to bat. Mansoor and Aqeel were on the field in no time to face Naveen and Glenn who shared the new ball for WICC. Aqeel tried to go after the bowlers immediately but Glenn got him to a top edge and Yasir didn’t make any mistake to pouch it. Mansoor started showing some aggression as well as he hit 22 run off Naveen’s over. Naveen didn’t seem to be intimidated as he bowled one low around leg stump and trapped him for LBW. Murtaza and Haroon became victims of two surprising deliveries by Naveen and in no time PACC in trouble. Haroon must be regretting rescheduled game because he scored 100 not out two weeks ago in a wash out game. Akbar took the charge along with Jansher who fell to Ejaz just as things were settling down. Bilal didn’t bother to stay either when he was caught at deep square leg. It was time for Akbar and Nasir to rescue the ship and they just know how to do it. Nasir blazed his way to 84 runs while Akbar showed some fire works for his fifty. Shami joined the party as well to show the depth for PACC. PACC was managed to score healthy 293 runs but scare was there at Reedy Creek ground because no total is a safe total here. WICC started their innings with Awais and Yasir. PACC’s bowling attack had plans to go home early. Mushtaq started the attack with a wicket in the first over as Yasir was dispatched for duck. Haroon quick fired two wickets of his own to make his day. Akbar the top wicket taker to the day didn’t waste any time to add few more to his tally. Shami grabbed one for himself and Jani and Kamran claimed 1 wicket each. Donald showed some honesty as he disclosed he would be wasting time on purpose to wait for the rain. Thanks God he was joking and the battle between top wicket taker Akbar and # 3 batsman in the league easily won by Akbar. It was great win for PACC as they have two more steps to climb to be # 1 for the first in the history of the club. Akbar was named man of the match for his 56 runs and 4 wickets while Nasir blazed away with 84 runs.
Lets go PACC and take one game at a time.
Umpire Report Great umpiring by SCCA. Both teams appreciate Blessington for working hard to make sure we have umpires available for the game. |
