Match Report
ROCC comprehensively beats PACC - this is how.....

The two met for the first time in 2 years and a lot has changed. PACC were not not just a high spirited team with never give up attitude but now they had experience and consistency with them and stellar performances to prove that. ROCC on the other hand has found the right combination of experience of senior players and energy of younger players over last 2 seasons. This was going to be a tough competetion - PACC hoping to finish on top and ROCC to punch their ticket to playoffs and not depend on fate of other games for that.

ROCC won the toss and elected to bat. Very brave decision by captain. PACC has chased ROCC totals in all the last 3 games and the conditions were cloudy , humid and light breeze. But the openers he chose this time - Sauvrin and Dakshin responded splendidly - They put on 122 for first wicket and scored at more that 6 an over. Dakshin especially - produced a gem of an inning with 75 runs. Had to retire. It looked like nothing could get him out that day. Ashu made a quick 25 and got out when he tried to force the run rate. Dhimant, Pinkesh and Dipen made some quick runs at the end to take total to 237.

After a hearty lunch both teams got back on the field.

Both the teams knew it was not more than a fighting total - especially with PACC chasing.

Mansoor and Murtuza came out swinging and blazing. First ball of the inning was dispatched over the cover for a sizzling boundary. In 3 overs score was 40. This would make any team give up - and knowing that there is a long similiar PACC line up to go through. But this was new look ROCC bowling and they stuck to the task and bowled as planned. Soon Dhimant got the breakthrough by getting Mansoor caught. Murtuza followed - unbelievable catch by Shawn off his own bowling. Suddenly batting didnt seem that easy for PACC batsman. Shawn broke through Harron's defences and in 2 balls perfectly yorked Akbar. I guess this over was the turning point. This brought Sham Abdullah ( ROCC nemesis for last 2 games) to the crease. But bowling and fielding was so tight that even he found it difficult to connect and score. Dhimant and Shawn were already bowling to the tail batsman next few overs. From 40/0 in 3 overs PACC were 60/8 in 15 overs. Nasir stood his ground and played some very powerful shots. Ashu and Vishal took care of the last 2 wickets to register a invaluable victory over PACC.

Man of the Match - Dakshin Gullapalli for 75*

Umpire Report
Excellent umpiring by both the umpires from VTCC

PACC's Umpiring Report:

From the ROCC's innings it seemed like Umpires were pre-determined not to call any body "LBW" and call WIDE "strictly" (but have to admit it was for both teams) but suddenly that consistency disappeared during PACC's innings and "LBW" was enforced. PACC does not think it would have made the difference between win and loss but consistency with 'LBW" would have made a difference during the ROCC's innings.

If we stay consistent through out the game with our decisions it will not create an escalation for any team.

I totally respect PACC's opinion - but I would like to give credit to bowlers in the same token. We have worked hard on controlling the bowling and it has showed in last few games. We used to average 30-35 wides a games in last few games it has gone down to 20s and now 10s. The bowling was more on stumps and it shows with 6 PACC batsman clean bowled. One LBW could have been doubtful - but I wasnt looking from Umpires position. I think umpires also did things like keeping scores and bowling figures which was not required because both PACC and ROCC were keeping the score. May be 1-2 LB decisions went to ROCC when they were batting but doesnt that happen. I do agree with keeping the umpiring consistently throughout the game.

Thanks
