I received my first Breyer model horse when I was five. It was a dapple grey Old Timer who eventually met it's demise at the hands of my younger sister who thought she could ride it. It's been a long time since the mid 70s and that particular model. My collection grew and if I don't have one thousand Breyer, Stone, Resin and other make model horses I don't have one. Around late 2004, early 2005 I experienced a major burnout in collecting and the hobby in general to the point I could not touch a model and had to have someone else pack up my collection. It was several years before I could touch any and then it only went to purchasing stablemates and a few choice other models and leaving them boxed and they'd get stored immediately. Several people I knew in the hobby attempted to get me out of this burnout but ended up only making it worse. Recently though I seem to have shaken much of it and have begun redoing ids/pedigrees for a good number of my models. I do still need to get pictures of many of my horses but I am looking forward to doing so. I ordered my first custom in more than 4 years and she should be arriving soon. I went and purchased prop/backdrop making supplies and have removed all those stablemates from their boxes/sets that I've purchased. And I've started to reconnect with others in the hobby.
