Here's some basic questions that I get asked every now and then. If you have another question which is not covered here, please feel free to e-mail me.
How did you learn to draw?
I'm a self taught artist. I learned mostly by studying the art of others and observing the things and people around me. There were also a few books which really helped me along the way. Please send me an e-mail if you'd like a list of recommended reading.
Can you teach me?
I'm toying with the idea of putting up a short tutorial on drawing the basic human figure, but until then I'm afraid not. The best advise that I can give you is to pay attention to the world around you and practice, practice, practice!
Will you draw me a picture?
I don't usually do requests. I'm much more fond of drawing someone a picture because I like their character or their idea for the picture. However, art trades can be negotiated, and I do take commissions. Please e-mail me if you would like to do a trade or wish to hire me for a commission. As for requests and gifts, your best bet is to get to know me better and show me some of you art first. You can still ask me, but don't count entirely on me agreeing to it.
What's your price and process for a commission?
Since I'm still a bit new to freelance artwork, my prices are very negotiable. However, I will start my pricing at a minimum of $10 U.S. which I consider to be a basic labor fee. Additional cost will depend upon the type of project proposed and the labor hours spent on it.
What do I get?
Once again, negotiable. It all depends on what you want and how much you are willing to pay for it. E-mail me and we'll work something out.
Can I use your art on my website?
Nope. Not that you're out to try and steal my art, but I've had a brush or two with people who were. Unless you've commissioned something from me specifically for use on your website I'm afraid that it's impossible. Please respect copywright law and leave my art alone.
Can I use one of your character's portraits as a portrait for my own RP or story character?
Nope. Sorry, but once again, it's just too easy for people to start stealing my art like there's no tommorrow and then claim that they "forgot" to give me credit when I catch them. If you've paid for a commission and wish to put the commissioned picture on a website or some such thing, that's another matter entirely. All I ask is that you give credit where credit is due.
Can I e-mail you and talk to you?
Absolutely! I'd love to hear from you!
Will you take a look at my artwork?
Once again, absolutely! I love taking a look at other people's art!
Can I do a drawing of one of your characters?
I would feel honored if you did. ^_^ My only request is that you give me credit for my character if you post the picture on your website or gallery account. If you send it to me, I'll put it up in the Guest Art section of my Art Gallery.
What mediums and materials do you use?
I love pencils. For line art and sketches I use a 0.5 mechanical pencil and regular printer paper, though I may use a different kind of paper depending on the importance of the sketch. The colored pencils I use are Prismacolor brand. I use Paintshop Pro 6 in combination with a Wacom art tablet for all of my computer done drawing and coloring. I have been known to dabble with watercolor from time to time, but I don't consider it to be one of my better mediums.
