The following settings are the same for all formats:
Open the Compression Options… via EAC | Compression Options, and select the Offset tab. Make sure that Use Offset Correction for encoding and decoding is disabled:
If you would enable this offset 'correction', even as set to 0, then you would get ugly cutoffs or pauses, especially annoying in e.g. gapless live albums. So it is very important to disable this setting as shown in picture above !
Now select the External Compression tab. The following 3 steps are required for all formats:
1. CheckUse external program for compression.
2. SelectUser Defined Encoder from the Parameter passing scheme list.
3. Uncheck Use CRC check. Uncheck Add ID3 tag. (The encoder or the wapet utility will handle tagging.)
Now continue configuration with your format of choice:
Shorten (SHN) cannot be recommended as Lossless format anymore, so it isn't supported by this Tutorial.
SHN is somewhat outdated and old, so technically all other mentioned Lossless formats
have advantages compared to SHN. Advantages like achieved compression ratio (smaller filesizes !), speed for en- and decoding etc.
