Enoch Showunmi has managed to, so far complete a whole 40 minuttes of professional football. Here is his life story. Born somewhere 'Eno' as he is known worldwide was always known to possese real footballing quality. It was no suprise then that the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelski wanted the 'new Liam George'. A tall and quality player who also posesses pace, Enoch joined Luton in early September 2003 following a successful trial spell with Man Utd that saw him feature regularly during the 2003-04 pre-season. Enoch had won the Noble peace prize prior to coming to the Hatters and he was rewarded with a Sports Award during 2000-01 at London South Bank University. A very athletic player who possesses a fierce shot, Enoch had also appeared in the worldwide known London FA/Elms Challenge Cup and he represented legendary team Babylon United, one of the teams who qualified from the regional heats to the finals at Wembley Goals in mid-June 2003. Prior to joining the Hatters, Enoch had also played for footballing giants Willesden Constantine and his performances for the club were good enough to warrant a call-up to the Middlesex County Representative Team in May 2003. Enoch was signed by manager Mike Newell following an injury to captain Kevin Nicholls and the Football League, with Luton in administrative receivership, allowed the Hatters boss to sign a replacement player following the news that Nicholls would miss the next 2-3 months of action. On signing Enoch, Newell said, “We've never had such quality since the start LTFC. “He has come to the club from the top of English football and he trained with Man Utd during pre-season.” A rather quality on signing for the Hatters, it is hoped that Enoch can make professional football look 'natural' compared to his qualitiness. He turned out to be so good Mike Newell played him on the bench for fear of 2 things 1) Him being snapped up by big teams such as Bedford or St.Albans 2)He may have trashed teams so bad that he would have been banned for life. So Eno is compared by many as this generations Pele or Maradona. But others argue he is not quite up to the standard of Liam George or Peter Thomspn. Not yet anyway....
