ABOUT ME

Some 22 years ago in Ghana, a little boy was born to Eric and Mercy A. on January 11, since that day he has embark on the journey for survival.  This boy, later named Carl A is now 6 feet 3 inches tall, fair in complexion and weighs about 180lbs. His low-cut and neatly trimmed hair goes hand-in-hand with a little facial hair which gives him a rather innocent appearance. His small brown eyes, small ears, broad chest and shoulders, makes him look confident and ready to face all the tasks ahead of him in life as a man.

A couple of years ago, I left the shores of Africa to join the hustle in America. Life as it is, brought some good and hard times with it but I just make it through each and every day hoping that when it’s all said and done every sweat and tear would be worth it. I started out at the Clarion University of Pennsylvania and later moved to James Madison University, all in pursuit in of a degree in accounting. Currently in my junior year I hope to graduate next year and move on to my Maters of Business Administration in Finance or Accounting Information Systems.

One of my most unique experiences in life by far has been growing up. Growing up in itself fascinates me in that I always look back at myself a couple of years ago and realize that it takes nothing but time to become a man and take up responsibilities. I still possess traces of different cultures and lifestyles, which is one of my most valuable assets. One of the most important things I learnt is to respect people without regard to age, sex, social standing, ethnicity and religious affiliations or any other prejudice.

The social nature of the Ghanaian setting has taught me a lot. This has helped me to be a friendly, down to earth, ambitious, and result-oriented. In my opinion, one of the factors that contribute to success is learning to accept and live with people. Along the paths I have walked in life I have grown to become an extrovert and it has allowed me to learn and discover new things in life. I like reading and listening to all kinds of music because it is the only way I reach out to my soul. I am a fairly good soccer player. My skills and passion were highly influenced by the African setting in which I lived. However, I'm also a fairly good basketball player and swimmer. Basically, I like to challenge myself both physically and mentally whilst having fun.

Having success as my ultimate aim, I have set goals that I hope to achieve. My goal that I hope to accomplish in the very near future is to attend college and attain a graduate degree in my chosen field of study. Anxiously looking forward to my dream becoming a reality, my ultimate goal in life is to work proficiently in the field in which I studied and to be physically, mentally and emotionally sound. It’s also my goal to be financially independent, to be of help to others and be a blessing to my parents, family, friend and anyone who crosses my path on earth and finally be a good role model and pacesetter for my children to look up to.

I will compromise anything except my integrity to accomplish these goals. As I work towards achieving this greatness, I will always remember to give thanks to Almighty God for all the amazing qualities he has given me as an individual and hope not to bear grudge against anybody and simply move on in life. With all this, I hope to achieve even greater things.
