Her Past

Lilianith Verlanca Marlanah Payne's life started out as a forbidden one. She was the daughter of a demi-goddess [Juanita Marlanah] and a demon [Zeph Verlanca]. Her mother, Juanita, had been engaged for over a year to Dante Payne, another demon, when she had an affair with Zeph that resulted in Lilianith's birth. Juanita was blessed by the goddess Selene but when she went against the laws that bound her life and had the affair, Selene cursed the child's life. Dante knew Lilianith was not his own, but tried to treat her as his own anyway. Soon though Juanita's guilt overthrew her when she found out just how powerful her daughter would be with the bloodlines she had. Her jealousy drove away Dante, and she blamed Lilianith for it. So she bound her powers and banned her from the family.

She was only two-months old, but due to the curse Selene put on her, she had already aged to five years old in both appearance and mind. She went to her real father, Zeph, to see if he could convince Juanita to keep her. Zeph had wanted the child as his daughter, and was more than eager to please but when Juanita found out she went behind Zeph's back and banished Lilianith, telling her that Zeph no longer wanted her.

She was found by an Elven clan and taken into their care, where they treated her like their own for several months between the age of five and fifteen. She then struck out into the world on her own, in search for that elusive thing called a family. Although she could have had one with the Elves, she knew that would not last long. So she wandered about aimlessly but as she did so she noticed her aging was slowing. When she would have been twenty by the time three months had passed, she was only sixteen. That is when Selene came to her and told her of the curse, and that she could see that despite her bloodlines she was a good person. She took off the curse, and told her that the only thing that would restore her powers would be her mothers death.

So Lilianith set off to find her mother, steeling her mind and body against the pains it brought to know what she must do. Her heart became cold, and she viewed life through eyes that saw things from a perspective most never recieved. The perspective of an indifferent person, who could see things without prejudice and know them as they truly are. The only thing she had as a clue to find her mother was her mother's bloodhawk, given to her when she was banned. The bloodhawk, named Killian after the Gaelic word strife, followed her as a protector since she had no powers. She learned instead to use her mind and her human body as a weapon. She made powders, potions, that each had different abilities. Powders to blind, to burn away the sense of smell, to confuse, to explode, to paralize. These things became her weapons. She was not completely without powers of her own, however. Although her true powers were locked away, she had the ability of illusion. She could make a person believe something, see something, hear something, smell something; and to the person it would seem as real as anything else, it just could not be touched. She longed for her illusions to be real, and knew the only way was to kill her mother. So that is where she goes to now, on her journey to avenge herself.

The Present

She has found her father, or whom she always considered to be her true father, Dante Payne. They fought a mighty battle in which Lilianith lost, but led to Dante staying around, wanting to be the father he never had been. They are an amusing pair, Lilianith now seventeen at two years, and Dante now nineteen. when she told him of her plans, he merely shrugged. He had no more fond feelings for Juanita. That is what made Lilianith decide to give him one more shot, he had as cold a heart as hers made by Juanita as well. They were alike in that much, at least.

The Future

It is sad, but the only result to this life would be sadness.
