MICHIGAN CITY WEEKLY DISPATCH
Thursday, Nov 1, 1883

Mr. J Denton Miller, an old
resident of this county, and
who has resided in this city
for some time, breathed his
last at 7 o'clock last evening.
Mr. Miller had been suffering
for some time, and death was
a relief to him. He was a formost
citizen, and was beloved by all.
Mr. Miller was born in Saratoga
Springs, New York, on November
15,1807, and at the time of his
death was 76 years of age. He
leaves a wife and four grown
children, three of whom are married.
The obsequies will take place on
Thursday afternoon, at 2 o'clock,
from the Congregational church,
Rev. E. H. Smith officiating.

Yesterday was the birthday of Mr.
Miller, and also the fortieth
anniversary of his wedding. It
is a coincidence that he
should expire on that day.

Notes: There are a couple of
errors in this obituary. It
was actually the day after his
44th wedding anniversary, and
it was not his birthday yet.
