the turning point

PG-13/ warnings: minific - a 400 word challange about the "turning point of lucius and remus' feelings" - slash, but nothing heavy.

part i: the turning point

"draco's told his father about lupin, he won't stand a chance now,
he's really got to leave the school" harry whispered to hermione as
they walked down the corridor to lupin's office. They looked in and
found remus staring at the floor, obviously thinking about
something. "What's the matter?" hermione asked as they entered the
room. Lupin just looked up and replied sharply "Nothing, nothing's
wrong. I just want to be on my own". Harry gave hermione a puzzled
look, shrugged and they turned round and left. "I think he's just
worried, if he has to leave hogwarts, what's he going to do for a
living, you know he hasn't had it easy...", hermione trailed off as
they turned the corner and saw, striding towards them in a vicious
rage, mr. lucius malfoy, draco's father. He was heading towards where
they had just come from, professor lupin's office.
Harry decided to follow him, he didn't trust mr. malfoy,
harry knew he and professor lupin detested each other. Mr malfoy
entered the office and left the door slightly ajar, harry could just
see the two of them, lucius was pearched on lupin's desk but lupin
was still staring at the same spot he had been when harry and
hermione were there. "So is it true remus, you've decided to leave
the school" lucius began in a soft whisper. "Yes... Like i had a
choice. i bet you're glad, you've always had it in for me." lupin
snapped back. "I admit, it may seem like that but..." lucius replied,
trailing off as though there was something else he had wanted to say,
but couldn't. lupin looked up "but what lucius?" he said in a mucher
softer tone than before "nothing, it doesn't matter" lucius was now
the one staring at the floor as lupin looked longingly at lucius'
mornful expression. "what's the matter?" inquired remus, lucius
looked up at him but gave no reply. Lucius placed his hand on lupins
and said very gentley "just because i always treated you horribly,
doesn't mean i hate you... stupid as it sounds it was they way i
coped with my feelings". Lupin looked into lucius' eyes and leant
forward as if he was going to... Harry looked away and ran down the
corridor he couldn't believe what he had just witnessed, he didn't
WANT to believe what he had seen.
