Below is a little bit about each member in the cast of Smallville. Go
To: Tom Welling as Clark Kent His first big break was landing six
episodes on Judging Amy, playing opposite Amy Brenneman in a
romantic role that drew raves. He landed the role of Kent after a
nationwide search for a fresh face to play the part.
Welling has relocated to Vancouver
while filming the series. When not working, he enjoys reading, playing
basketball with friends and running. Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang Since then, she has starred on the
Canadian series for three seasons and will continue her role while
filming the second season of Smallville. She was also chosen as
one of the new faces of Neutrogena and started an advertising campaign
with them in 2002.
Kreuk currently lives in Vancouver
and when not working enjoys reading and spending time with friends. Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor Upon graduation with a degree in
mass communications and theater, he packed his bags and headed for New
York to pursue acting. He quickly landed roles in off-Broadway
productions and small independent films, and soon segued into regular
appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in a sketch called The
Amsterdam Kids. Keeping busy over his hiatus,
Rosenbaum recently wrapped production on the feature film Bringing
Down the House opposite Steve Martin. The film is slated for release
in the spring of 2003. This November he can be seen in the independent
film Poolhall Junkies with Chazz Palminteri and Christopher
Walken. Other film credits include Sorority Boys with 7th
Heaven's Barry Watson and Sweet November with Keanu Reeves
and Charlize Theron. He also starred in the hit thriller Urban Legend
and appeared in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, directed
by Clint Eastwood and starring Kevin Spacey and John Cusack.
Rosenbaum currently resides in Los
Angeles. When not working, he belongs to an ice hockey league, a sport
that he has played since childhood, and is a dedicated New York Rangers
fan. Sam Jones III as Pete Ross His first job was a memorable
guest-starring role on NYPD Blue in which he portrayed a troubled
teen who stole a gun and hid it in his daughter's crib. From there, his
career began to grow. His credits include an emotionally charged
recurring role on C.S.I. in which he played a teen who
accidentally killed a girl and then watched as his grandfather attempted
to take the blame. He also guest-starred on Judging Amy as a
sexually abused teen who gets mixed up in a drive-by shooting. Jones
will appear in two episodes of the new R.L. Stine series The
Nightmare Room, beginning this fall on Kids' WB! When he is not working, Jones spends
his time on the basketball court. He currently lives in Los Angeles and
will be relocating to Vancouver for the filming of Smallville. Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan Most recently, Mack starred in the
short-lived television comedy Opposite Sex. Previously, she got
the chance to display her comedic flair as a series regular on Hiller
and Diller, working alongside comedy greats Richard Lewis, Kevin
Nealon and Eugene Levy. Mack guest-starred in a highly rated and
critically praised episode of The WB family drama 7th Heaven
portraying a teen caught up in the devastating trend of
"cutting." She can also be seen on Kids' WB! this fall in two
episodes of the new R.L. Stine series The Nightmare Room. On the big screen, Mack appeared in
"Camp Nowhere" and starred in the video release Honey, We
Shrunk Ourselves.
An accomplished dancer and singer
currently living in Los Angeles, Mack enjoys reading, going to movies
and plays and spending time with her friends and family. John Glover as Lionel Luthor Glover soon found himself cast as a
series of notable villains such as the pornographer-blackmailer in 52
Pick-Up, the mad scientist Dr. Jason Woodrue in Batman &
Robin, a manic TV executive in Gremlins 2: The New Batch and
a drunken murderer in Masquerade. His impressive resume also
includes such box office hits as Payback with Mel Gibson, Woody
Allen's Annie Hall Robocop 2 and Love! Valour! Compassion! Always returning to his first love,
the stage, Glover received a Tony award and an Obie award for Best Actor
in Love! Valour! Compassion! He was also awarded the L.A. Drama
Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actor for his work in The
Traveler. Additional Broadway performances include Sorrows and
Rejoicings, Give Me Your Answer, Do!, Tartuffe and Oblivion
Postponed.
Glover splits his time between
Maryland, Los Angeles and Vancouver. Striving to increase the awareness
for the disease as well as raise much-needed funds for a cure, John
dedicates his time to the Alzheimer's Association. He also funds a
scholarship for actors at his alma mater, Towson University, and returns
to teach classes in his free time. Annette O'Toole as Martha Kent Most recently, O'Toole starred on
the cable television series The Huntress and also has been a
series regular on Nash Bridges. She has guest-starred on many
series including Law & Order and Boy Meets World. Dividing her time between stage and
screen, O'Toole has performed in theater productions around the country,
including a run in Los Angeles in Vanities and performances of Yankee
Wives and Sun Bearing Down at The Globe Theater.
Currently living in Los Angeles,
O'Toole is married to actor Michael McKean (Best in Show). John Schneider as Jonathon Kent Recently, Schneider directed and
starred in the original television movie Mary Christmas with
Cynthia Gibb due out December 2002. He has also has appeared in numerous
other original television movies, including Michael Landon, the
Father I Knew, True Women, Night of the Twisters, The Legend of Ruby
Silver, Texas and Desperate Journey. He can also be heard as
the voice of the lead character in Kids' WB!'s animated series The
Mummy. A respected singer and songwriter as
well, Schneider did 487 performances of the Tony Award-winning musical Grand
Hotel and has released 11 solo albums, including a No. 1 album and
four No. 1 singles.
Recognizing a need for better health
care for children, Schneider co-founded the Children's Miracle Network,
the only annual fundraising event of its kind in the world. All monies
raised are given directly to children's hospitals located throughout
North America. Since its inception in 1982, the telethon has made over
$1 billion for hospitals in the United States and Canada.
A native of Mount Kisco, N.Y.,
Schneider currently lives just outside of Los Angeles with his wife Elly,
