A Mystic's Advantage
All her life Tyree's been afraid. Even the man who raised her, Julian Hagar, kept his distance, in spite of making sure she was always safe. But then Julian was killed in an accident. The guardsman who takes his place promises to do his best to continue protecting her. But her sense tells her that this man is the most dangerous person she's ever met. Shortly after he arrives, she is warned by a trusted friend that her life is in danger. Then there are two attempts on her father's life, or so it seems. As Tyree and her new guard attempt to figure out what's really going on, Tyree realizes she has to face reality, that part of herself she's tried to deny, if she is to survive.

This is a collection of my first published poems, all of them spiritually inspired by my deep faith in the Divine. Follows is one of my favorites, which was first
published in 1997 in an anthology called
Whispers at Dusk by The National Library of
Poetry, for which I received an Editors Choice Award.

Magician's Dawn

Arise, see the day
and know
it is mine.
Reaching beyond myself,
by trial of my convictions
spinning until,
I succeed.
Grasping, in my palm
a shining Truth
that eluded me, just a while.
It's nature is strength
to draw on.
Soothing of soul,
lucid, eternal,
I know it now.
Another pane
through which to gaze
from my many windowed home.
