Outline Cont.
Manticores are said to have the ability to devour entire armies without a trace, and Martikhoras is asked to come aid their kingdom by fighting with them. In return, they say, he may make any demand he wishes if their kingdom is victorious. It isn't strange to them to offer a blank check deal, as a monster is expected to demand either a tribute of 100 fine oxen, or 100 virgins for eating. The dragon is offered the same deal, if he wishes to come.
Martikhoras accepts the offer, aiding his side in battle and ultimately bringing them a resounding victory. When it comes time to claim his reward, he asks for time to consider his answer.
The book will either end with his request for the grandest opera house in the land to be built, where he can star in and direct his own shows, or with him sending an invitation to his mother to come see him in one of his shows.
