Ten Things I Hate About You

HOW DO I LOATHE THEE? LET ME COUNT THE WAYS.

ROMEO, OH ROMEO, GET OUT OF MY FACE.

Meet the Stratford sisters: pretty and popular Bianca (LARISA OLEYNIK), who has never had a date; and Kat (JULIA STILES), her older sibling, an ill-tempered harridan whose acerbic wit is matched only by her steadfast determination to alienate any guy who might be remotely interested in her.

Unfortunately, strict rules in the Stratford household forbid Bianca from having a boyfriend until her odious sister has one of her own -- a situation that seems highly improbable considering Kat is a social disaster.

Bianca's desperation for romance turns into a convoluted scheme to match Kat with her male equivalent -- a guy whose reputation is so infamous, Kat might rise to the challenge and find him worthy of her concealed charms. Mating mayhem ensues when Patrick Verona (HEATH LEDGER) (a sullen young man with a mysterious past -- is bribed by Bianca's wannabe boyfriend (ANDREW KEEGAN) to woo and win Kat, in order to clear the way for Bianca to begin dating. Moulin Rouge

Baz Luhrmann's films are based on myths.

In 'Strictly Ballroom', the myth is David and Goliath meets the Ugly Duckling. 'Romeo+Juliet' is about youthful love in conflict with society. The underlying myth in 'Moulin Rouge' is the myth of Orpheus.

Luhrmann says:

"The 'Red Curtain' style that defines our filmmaking comprises several distinct storytelling choices. A simple, even naïve story based on a primary myth is set in a heightened or created world that is at once familiar yet exotic, distant. Each of the 'Red Curtain' trilogy has a device which awakens the audience to the experience and the storyteller's presence, encouraging them to be constantly aware that they are in fact watching a film. In 'Strictly Ballroom' dance is the device, the actors literally dance out the scenes. In 'Romeo+Juliet' it is Shakespeare's heightened 400-year-old language. In 'Moulin Rouge', our ultimate 'Red Curtain' gesture, music and song is the device that releases us from a naturalistic world."

The Orphean Myth

It's Greek. It's about a boy. It's a story about love.

Orpheus was the son of Apollo and the muse Calliope. Orpheus inherited from his mother the power to enchant every living creature with his music. When his love Eurydice was killed he descended into the Underworld to plead for her return. Orpheus enchanted Hades, the monarch of the Underworld, with his music and was permitted to leave with Eurydice. But there was one condition: on his journey back to the world above, Orpheus must lead Eurydice and not look back to see if she followed. Just as he reached the entrance to the Upperworld, fear overpowered him and he turned to see if she followed, thus losing Eurydice forever. Visit club moulin here

Star Wars

Star Wars is only one of Jorge Lucas's best films. It is amazing watching these series and it is also amusing how Lucas was able to make such a series.

What is amazing about this series is it is a two part trilogy in which you venture into a world that is very real and futuristic. What makes it trully worth praising is how Lucas was able to create such a concrete and detailed galaxy naming all the planets, species and technology. It is just beyond imagination and to think that Lucas's first trilogy came out during the 70s.

Another thing about this film that makes you want to see the complete series is that it starts with the episode IV, V and VI and after around thirty years the episode I, II, and III come out. It certainly captures a vast range of audiences from the older generation to the youngest generation. A whole line of generations can become fans and just enjoy these movies together.

Since the third episode is still currently being made, fans and other people can go back to the other five episodes and review the stories.

Star wars not only invades the movie houses or television sets (dvd, vhs), Star Wars has become so big that it has also invaded the game world.

Ocean's 11

Dapper Danny Ocean (GEORGE CLOONEY) is a man of action. Less than 24 hours into his parole from a New Jersey penitentiary, the wry, charismatic thief is already rolling out his next plan. Following three rules — don't hurt anybody, don't steal from anyone who doesn't deserve it, and play the game like you've got nothing to lose — Danny orchestrates the most sophisticated, elaborate casino heist in history.

In one night, Danny's handpicked 11-man crew of specialists — including an ace card sharp (BRAD PITT), a master pickpocket (MATT DAMON) and a demolition genius (DON CHEADLE) — will attempt to steal over $150 million from three Las Vegas casinos owned by Terry Benedict (ANDY GARCIA), the elegant, ruthless entrepreneur who just happens to be dating Danny's ex-wife Tess (JULIA ROBERTS).

Coincidence or motive? Only Danny knows for sure. To score the cash, he'll have to risk his life and his chance of reconciling with Tess. But if it all goes according to Danny's intricate, nearly impossible plan, he won't have to choose between his stake in the heist and his high-stakes reunion with Tess…or will he?
