Opening Day - Seattle May 1, 2004

We gathered at our friend's, Bruce and Della, house for a potluck and the opening day festivities. This is basically a celebration where everybody parades their boats through the Montlake cut in honor of the beginning of the "boating season". Myself, I'm not sure I've every considered the term "boating season" before, but it is a fun event to see a lot of friends and be out in the sun. Unfortunately, the police put an end to the launching of balloons we used to do as kids - I'd probably be a lot better at it now.
