And now: HEALTH TOOLS!!! Physical Boundaries: Before our guest speaker from the Beaverton STD clinic came, (I think that’s where he was from...) I already had a plan for my boundaries. I am going to remain abstinent until I am within the confines of marriage. This is partially because of my Christian beliefs, and also for myself. First of all, sex is a powerful, and intimate act. Without commitment, it would complicate and/or destroy any relationship, causing many problems for myself ands others, just to say the least. Also, I would not even be able to begin to think about having children, or be able to deal with pregnancy before I was married. If I were to become pregnant in a committed relationship (marriage) I would at least have unconditional support, and be able to think clearly about what to do next. I also believe that sex is not casual, and I believe it is only something to be done within the confines of marriage, as it is a serious and intimate thing. Stress Management: Well, stress was one of the first things we talked about in health this year. Being both bipolar AND a high school student, I do have stress problems…. Actually I have quite a few stress management problems… I am currently trying to work them out, by improving my habits in dealing with stress, and changing some stressful factors in my life. Realizing The Media’s Influences: While talking about all of these “ideas and ideals” put into our heads by the media, I realized how deeply imbedded in our minds these things are. It really is quite sick, everyone who is unaware of these things are basically slaves to the media. Also I went to some senior I.T. projects on this same subject, and have gained some more perspectives on this subject. Now that I am aware of what the media wants us to think, and what they are doing, I can make my own decisions and form my own opinions about events and behaviors that go on in my life.
