2: The Wrong Wat Out 2: The Wrong Way Out

My feet touched something solid. What was it? Then I saw that it was the ground. I nearly jumped for joy. But my elation last little more than a minute because I realized that I had no idea where I was. Upon much thought I remembered that I had my wand with me. I grabbed it and said, "Lumos." Almost immediatly wishing I hadn't. Thousands of what I think were bats began to shriek and fly around. They started to fly to the left and I followed them. Where ever they were going was good enough for me.

But after a while, I got tired. This tunnel seemed endless and the bats seemed to have endless energy. I was weak, however, and did not. So I collasped against the side. I was never one for giving up but then it seemed immpossible to escape. So I laid against the wall, for some time and fell asleep. When I awoke the bats were gone and where ever I was was very quiet. I didn't like it. Whenever I took a step the noise echoed and my breathing seemed louder. My heart seemed to thud in my ears.

Water dripped down the sides of this place, eventually, making the silence seem louder than ever. And damn, I was starved but I had gone longer than this without food. And yet, I didn't have wand then. I conjured up some bread and roasted chicken breast along with a flask of water. I ate quickly and ravenously. This was turning out be quite the adventure. When I finished I rose and began walking again. Heart filled with a new hope and my belly filled with food, changed into dog form, hoping to find some scent of fresh air.

But all the air was stuffy and stale. I could see better now with my sharp canine eyes. And the silence dimmed. I heard things now. Mice scurrying from here to there and some bats, I think. And then, my nose found exactly what I wanted it to. Air, fresh. I broke out into a run, my tongue hanging out at the side of my face. And I saw a light at the end of what appeared to be a long tunnel. This had to be the way out. I just knew it in my heart.

And because I didn't think that it had been too easy I got myself into deeper trouble then ever before.

Half way through my feet got wet and I began to spash around in water. Totally harmless, I thought and began to walk through it. It got deeper and deeper until I was struggling to keep my head above the water. I did my best to swim through though. And then I felt the current of the water changing. Wait, I thought, there was no current. I began to get frightened. And the water began to get chilly. But I continued on in the darkness.

I felt something brush against my leg and swam faster. Then some hand wrapped around it. I quickly became human and grabbed my wand and shot green sparks at it. But it didn't let go. And then another hand grabbed my other leg. I was being pulled down and fast too. And it seemed the more I struggled the deeper it took me. Soon the surface was at least four feet above my head.
