| My web page has been up for quite some time, but it has always seemed a bit lacking somehow. I thought it might be appropriate to list a few more details about who I am: things I believe in, causes I espouse, my favorite things, etc.
So let's start with why I don't eat meat. I think the official term for me would be ovo-pesca vegetarian; meaning I don't eat meat but I still eat eggs, dairy and fish. I dropped beef from my diet somewhere around 1999. Why? Two reasons: first of all, I don't like the idea of some other creature having to die so I can be fed. Second: these days, most animals raised for food are fed (in my opinion) far too many chemicals. These chemicals, when ingested by humans, can create havoc. |

September 2005 I also gave up poultry. This was a tough decision because I love the flavor and not being able to have turkey at Thanksgiving seems almost un-American. But once I saw how inhumanely poultry is treated before it's hacked up for my dinner, I knew I had to leave it behind. And as with beef, there are w-a-a-y too many chemicals in poultry.
