Muki-Zuri

This freebie vanity website is for those who might be interested in seeing the continuing growth & development of my new little ferret!

Born on March 29th by Caesarian Section, he is one of four (and the only male) offspring from the union of Paris (Mom) and Zevon(Dad, son of Kodiak, grandson of Cornelious ... sounds Klingon!) of West Valley Wuzzles.

MANY thanks to Kevin & Julie, who have allowed me the privledge of adopting this little fella! They are absolutely super folks, and their son is no slouch either.

Ferret breeding is an expensive, difficult and often heart-wrenching pastime, and should NOT be undertaken by ANYONE who hasn't got infinite finance, resource and patience ... as well as massive emotional reserves to deal with the difficulties inherant in breeding. Add on to that YEARS of training and experience!

Chances of miscarriages, injuries and both maternal, natal, neo-natal morbidity are very high. Veterinary bills are ever-present and frequently high (and you thought just having one for a pet was expensive!). Face it, ferrets are just poorly designed ... and this shows up in breeding more than anywhere else.

I hold those rare few, those who do it RIGHT (like Kevin & Julie) in the absolute highest regard.

So ... here's my new little guy ... Muki-Zuri. His name means Good/Beautiful (Zuri: Kswahili) Bringer of Joy & Enlightenment (Muki: Muslim/Middle Eastern/Early Persian).

Bookmark this site, come back often and watch him GROW! New photos will be posted below!

Photos taken by Kevin Groninga on: 17 April, 2003

Age: 2 weeks, 5 days

Muki: April 25, 2003 Age: 4 Weeks.

Muki's eyes are still closed, but should be opening any day now! He has just begun to be weaned under Mama Paris' very watchfully protective eye. He is beginning to show significant color change from his earlier nearly-uniform baby-fuzz grey... its AMAZING what nine days can do! And LOOK AT THOSE FEET! This little boy is going to grow FAST!
