THE HISTORY OF ASPIRIN
Aspirin'sknown history dates back to Hippocrates, the Greek physician considered the father of medicene. In 500 BC, he used an extract from the bark of the white willow tree to releive pain. In 1897, the active ingredient, acetylsalicylic acid, was synthessed by Bayer chemist Felix Hoffman who was looking for a way to releive his father's rheumatism pain, according to Bayer. The drug hit the market as a powder in 1899 abd a year later became the first major medecine sold in pill form.
